I am at my wits end! I've just left my last hairdresser in another state. and am now living in San Jose, CA. I have interviewed a few beauticians at this point, and it just sounds so "iffy" with them.
One guy said he's been doing extensions for over "20 years", and is still using the "circle" braiding method, which has been done and over with since the 1980's.
One woman says she wants to see me, but she welcomes walk-ins. Her clients are "happy to give up their seat" when asked if they can be bumped for someone new coming in the door.
I finally thought i found the beautician of my standards, until i went over there. She's working out of her house that looks like a bomb went off in it, and stank to high heaven. And can talk a blue streak - which is scary. If a person talks that much, then they must lie in between respirations. We're talking over an hour on the phone. And more in person.
She swears by some hair extension called "bohemia" or something, which i heard was great. she then began saying my extensions didn't look natural - while hers looked like someone stuck a wig on her head...an old wig at that!
We were parting ways when a new client or someone was at the door. When I was leaving the visitor began complimenting me on my hair. This beautician never touched my head - but as i was almost out of earshot she took the full credit for doing it.
I'll keep looking. anyone in san jose, or san francisco?
