Allright, this is my first time here so I'd like to start off this post with a friendly Howdy from canada :)

Allright, now to my problem. I'm a guy, and my hair used to be ~5 inches long if you were to hold a hair straight

Now I got it cut to ~1.5 inches, and since then once my hair dries it "puffs" out about 2-3cm.

I got a bit of coloring, just snow-capping if you will, and i've been using the 'colored hair treatment' shampoo's and conditioners.

Allright, any help is appreciated :) Thank you!

Bonjour!

So what's wrong with it?  It sounds nice to me!

well if I were to describe it...

Right after a shower when it's damp it's good, it stays smooth and easy to ''work with'' (if you will), and you can see all the highlights and stuff. But after it dries, you can't see the highlights, it's hard to work with and it really gets on my nerves, lol.

anyways, thanks again for any help, t'is appreciated.

Hmmm.  Sounds like you like the damp and slightly more separated look.  Maybe using a little jojoba oil on it would help.  It reduces frizz (so puffiness to some extent) and makes hair shinier, which may make your highlights show up better (you'd have to try it and see if this is the effect you were looking for).

I mean use VERY little.  If your hair is only 1.5 inches, one drop may even be overdoing it.  Try just spreading a drop of it all over your fingers and put it as much on the ends of the hair as you can get (not really on the scalp, it may make your hair look oily if you get it on the scalp, but if you use very little it shouldn't make your hair look oily unless you use too much - the hair absorbs a small amount of it).

A small bottle costs a few bucks, but using so little it really will last forever.

What exactly are you trying to do with it when you "work with" it?  If you use products in it, (gels, sprays etc.) I can't guarantee how jojoba oiled hair would react, it may not hold as well.
