I'm having the opti-smooth hot treatment done next week. this is the only permanent straightening treatment avaliable in my area and I am starting to get really nervous!  Will it get frizzy afterwards? Is it worth doing? I am so sick of straightening my hair all the time. my hair isn't curly or straight, just fuzzy> Does any one have any advice? has anyone had this treatment

I have not had this treatment done before, but I would be careful when choosing a straightening system. Your hair will feel dry after, and possably get quite frizzy! I generally try to tell my clients with wavy hair to get a soft relaxer, not a straightening system. Mabey phone back the salon and ask if they offer a Relaxing Service instead!

i think that you should get a more permanent straightening system done on your hair because i got my hair relaxed with xtenso in april and i still have to straighten my hair i find that it takes the same time to straighten as my hair was before i got this treatment done, i do the same thing get out of the shower put product in let it dry then straighten it, the only difference is that my hair straightens a little bit better, i realy regret having this done if i could get a more permanent straightening system done i would have but i choose the wrong thing to do but now sicne my hair is relaxed i dont want to over process it with other things and have it fall out so im going to have to wait untill is grows out:(, but i guess it all depends on your hair, however i would suggest you get the more peranet straightening system done unless u want to wear your hair both straight and wavy or curly then you should get it relaxed

I ended up getting the opti-smooth treatment done and now my hair is amazing! It is so straight, I can't even remember my old hair! I only use my hair dryer if i'm in a hurry and If I go over it with a straightening iron (which i don't really need to do) it goes super-straight. What really stuns me is that my hair feels better than it has in years. I was expecting my hair to be dry but it's actually really glossy, even the ends feel pefect. My hair looks great when i do nothing and even greater when i spend just a few minutes with it, and compared to the hours I used to spend I can't get my head around it, I can even go outside in the rain and it stays straight!!!!! A few of my friends have now gone in to get it done and they have had the same results!

is the opti smooth treatment a relaxer or an actual straightening treatment like thermal reconditioning??

Opti-smooth heat treatment is definately a permanent straightening treatment (the cold treatment makes curly hair less frizzy).I also forgot to mention that it grows out rather than washes out so unless your hair is really curly and grows really fast you don't have to get it touched up very often. I wont need a touch-up for at least 6-8 months and when I do go in it will only cost $100 (comparted to $300 for the original treatment) this is less than it usually costs me for a colour/cut/blowdry so for me it was really great value!
