I don't think so. The only differences you might see when you get a cut are new waves that aren't visible when your hair is not long.
The thickness and how spaced out your waves are depend on you hair texture. Tightly curled hair usually get skinny waves. Loosely curled hair usually get thick spaced out waves.
If your waves are skinny you can't make them thick and spaced out(you can make them deeper by letting your hair grow longer). And if your waves are thick you can't make them skinny.

right now I only have little curls and some waves so if I let my hair grow out some more my waves should get deep right.

Correct, let it grow out as long as you can.
I've been growing my hair for about 2months and I'm getting my first cut this week or next week.
