Any of you have any embarrassing hair story/ies to share? Cos I've got one to share. It was funny at the time when it happened and yet embarrassing.

Little background -- about 5 years ago I lived in Hong Kong. A place that has no fresh water. All their drinkign water is bottled and the water used to take boaths, wash clothes dishes and hair is colorinated water. Mean lots of chemicals and an awful odor.

OK, SO I went into thsi salon for a hair cut. The hairdresser went thru the normal cycles wash and rise. He then cut and styled my hair. As he was stylign and blow drying my hair....There was tons of smoke coming from my hair. It was not like it was on fire or anything. Smoke was just coming from it.

I had every hairdresser and patron starring at me. I had a friend who was with me at the same time and she was laughing and so many of the other patrons and hairdressers started to laugh as well.

In the end, the hairdresser told me it was cos I had oily hair. He recommended some product from France which reaked of more chemicals.

I truely believe it had something to do with the conditon of the water I was using to wash my hair everyday. Now that I've moved back to North American, my hair is dry. Go figure :P

Thats really funny, lol.i could just imagine seeing you sitting there with your hair smoking .

Okay my  story is very embarrassing.I bought one of those chunking kits from walmart when I was like 14.So this was my first kit like this.It had one of those stupid caps where you pull strands through. It only had holes in the front for a thick stripe highlight effect. So it worked pretty well.It actually had an allover blonde color.Which was pretty brassy. But believe it or not thats not the embarrassing part.It seemed I actually pulled all of the hair through the holes. But thats not it either. So i felt pretty cute, lol. So I went right out after I did it.My hair was still wet.I had only glanced at it as I walked out.So I was out with a friend walking around feeling super cute with my unintentional blonde.Until my friend was like it looks good but what about the back? I was really confused until I got my compact out and looked at it in a bathroom mirror.I had this horrible strip of brown down the middle back of my hair.I looked like a skunk, lol .I had to wear it like that for months too cause my mom bought all my dye.It was rediculous. But its pretty funny now that I think back about it.Great topic by the way.I needed a good laugh.

Ya know, I smoked once before too...I don't suppose it was really very cold in the salon, huh?  My guess is probably not.  That didn't happen to everyone or everyone wouldn't have watched!

Once when we had an ice storm and the power went out for week, it got so cold in the house that it was below freezing inside.  When you take a bath (with your candle warmed bowl of water), your body heat is actually enough to make you smoke (just like when you breath and see your breath on a really cold day outside I guess).  So, once you get yourself all wet, the water just steams off of you in massive clouds!  Everywhere you get wet, so you can have your scalp and arms and everything all smoking at once!  And since there was no power, it was dark and with all the candles around, you look like some smoking goddess!  Kind of funny, but dang cold.

It was below zero and I'd just taken a shower. I went outdoors with wet hair and.... immediately my hair froze. It was terrifying at first, but thank goodness for the car's heater.

lol. I bought a hair kit about 3 months ag oand have yet to use it. I'm such a chicken about kits because of my first and last experience with a hair kit. Pretty much the same thing happened to me  Longhairdreams, uneven hair coloring. :(Again at that time it was not funny but when you think back to it now, its hilarious.

And freezing hair. I have never had that happen to me before because I have such long hair, I usually wait for it to dry before I leave the house.

Yup  That's the kind of compromise I have to make now. You're at, what, classic length?

Down to my butt now :) I love long hair and my man loves long hair even more. He gets freaked out when I mention a trim each time.

I have a story to share it happened not to long ago actually. I have long hair and im trying to grow it even more but it does cause some problems. I was driving on a busy high way and had the window down my hair blowing around and when i went to put the window up my hair got caught outside, on the other side of the glass! it hurt a lot! and i had to put the window back down without driving off the road or hitting anyone... I just hope no one saw that but chances are someone did see my hair sticking out my car window blowing in the breeze
