I am a 23 years old guy suffering from hair loss from last 5 years. I did consult few doctors in the initial stages but none took it seriously and I was told that it's a temporary loss and will stop soon. But I can't wait longer now since I can see bald patches.
I also have dandruff problem..whenever I scratch my head, I find white greasy solid on the tip of my nails. I have noticed that most of the falling hairs have a white solid cluster at the root of the hair.
Can anyone suggest any remedy to arrest my hair fall, its falling badly. Thanking all for the help in anticipation.
.

Can't help you with hair loss, but to eliminate that greasy dandruff buildup, scrub your scalp vigorously when washing, every time.

No, I just have no experience with hair loss. I have plenty of experience with scalp gunk, though.

Perhaps you should go back to the doctor so he can see that it's getting worse.

Bay- I have a really strong feeling that your 'dirty scalp' is the culprit.  You can try "Hair Support" hair products.  They have a scalp treatment that releases those dormant hairs.

Each hair on your head has a root and a shaft.  When you brush or comb your hair, it is the shaft you are styling.  The root of your hair is a soft, light-colored bulb below the surface of your scalp.  It lies in a casing called the follicle.  At the bottom of the follicle is the papilla, which nourishes the root.  Your hair grows when new cells form around the papilla.  These new cells push up on the old cells, gradually forcing them up out of the follicle.  The old cells are now part of the shaft.  As long as the papilla provides nourishment for
new cells, your hair continues to grow.  The papilla can nourish new cells for years.  Hair Support
will help to open up the follicles and push up the hair shaft.  It contains special ingredients to create a healthy scalp environment.

Hope this helps- Charlene

A lot of hair loss seems to be accompanied by scalp gunk and itching -_- .  Bleh, as if thinning hair weren't bad enough, it has to itch all the time, too. . . and it feels kind of "chicken and egg" figuring out which came first. . .  I just wish both would stop. . . *incoherent grumbles of a sleepy, cranky person*

I have got some scalp cleansers (ayurvedic recipes), let's see if I can get rid of the grease and the itch.. I have a strong feeling that  my hair loss is due to the scalp dirt too, but the problem is if I scrub my head vigorously while cleaning, I end up losing tons of hair...
