Hey so i was just wondering about what damaged hair is exactly. I use gels and stuff sometimes and i don't want it to like make me go bald or start balding at a younger age than i naturally would. Is that possible? does like all the strong gel pull on the scalp or something and make you go bald? This might sound stupid but i just don't know what all that chemical stuff does and it's all fairly recent, so it doesn't seem like anyone would know it's effects on balding. So to be safe would anyone reccomend people to not use gels and such?

Damaged hair is damaged hair, not dead roots. So if you mess up your hair with all that gunk, it'll still grow back.

I think lye relaxers are supposed to do that if improperly handled.

haha that's true but i'm not under too much stress and my family seems to have little balding. So atleast if i go bald, i'll know i couldn't control it and it wasn't any shampoo/gel/wax i chose to use. Thank you all!

I think genetic should count first when it comes to balding. Also stress, bad nutrition may help speed the balding process....

cheers
