My hair is exceedingly fine, curly/frizzy and color treated.  My new stylist put a combination of bleach and high lift tint in it.  My natural level is 4-5.

How much more damaging is bleach vs. high lift?  I LOVE the way it came out, but I don't want to fry my hair.  In the past, I've only had high lift, but it never turned light enough.  I'm NOT willing to sacrifice hair health, however, I will stick to high lift if it is a lot less damaging to the hair.  Please let me know.

Highlift is def. a better alernative to bleaching. Esp. if its lower in ammonia and has only 30 vol. developer. But that is def. a better way to do it

Can you only get a hi-lift from a stylist? can you also specically ask for it? I am just wondering... I want my hair a little lighter but it's been bleached arleady too much..

Bambilee, tho most "highlifts" mean they are specially formulated for that purpose high lift can also be color from sally's w/ 30 or 40 vol. developer. I know that wella colorcharm has a high lift series in their permanent range, which can be bought at sally's...hope this helps!
