Is there a difference between Extra Virgin and regular Olive Oil...I know the distinctions for cooking  but is there one for hair care?

there's no olive oil made for hair. i use EVOO.....i heard its the one should use so i use it. LOL. i dont know the difference..... ------------- |

Do you mean the olive oil that you find in the hair section at the store? Usually, those are not pure oils, have more than one ingredient and claims to do the same job. Sometimes they do, sometimes they dont. Sometimes it hairgrease, such as softee's coconut oil is a hair grease but is not real coconut oil. If you prefer the real olive oil than you should go to the baking isle of your grocery store. ------------- Natural BC May 9, 2004 |

| In the supermarket there are like 3 or more types of olive oil (not brands) Extra virgin, virgin and regular olive oil, depending on how it was processed I believe...I think each smells and feels a little different in texture so I was wondering if extra virgin is the best one for hair or just what everyone has in their kitchen? |

I get mine straight from the grocery store. I get a BIG bottle of EVOO and honey. I like to stock up on these becuase I use these both in cooking, hair and skin.  ------------- 100% Natural BC - 4/21/07 Love All Gods' Creatures |

Extra virgin is thicker in texture than regular and it's what most people use on their hair. I think the regular may have some other type of oils in it but I'm not sure, I'll have to check it out. With the extra virgin you are sure to get pure olive oil. ------------- |
