Anyone? I guess my question is too specific...Ok maybe u know of a red shade of one of the types of color they sell at sally's that u've tried and had it turn out that color. Any bottle redheads?

It's more of a faded light red, so i need something similar to that to refresh it, sort of red-orange versus just copper or deeper red if u know wht i mean, like my avatar pic but prob lighter at the mo (that's not me )

I wish I could help.  I used to go that shade of red but I haven't done it since I started going to Sallys.   - I got red once at the salon when I was a teen, (don't know what they used) and I did the brightest red they had in Loving Care from the drug store.  Both gave me that color, but both faded after about 2 weeks so were disappointing.

If you got the brightest red in the line, (but one that looks like a good naturalish orangy red, not a fake neon red) - you should get that if your hair's dying history doesn't effect it.  I'd just try stuff and strand test.

Did u use the demi vesion of clairol complements? Cuz every red i look at is either too bland or too dark if it's intense...lol well thanz susan i guess i'll have to try out various reds in demi colors

No I never used that.  I always went straight for permanent - still washed out too soon though.

At this point i'm thinking of just showing a stylist this pic and saying that i want EXACTLY that color lol. Maybe they can also even out my red a bit more since some of the ends are kinda darker than the rest of the hair...

I had a problem with that once when I went red because my ends were more porous from damage.  Ends being from my chin down to bsl.  I asked for the brightest orange red they had, she kindly did 3 test strands (which was good because one came out black, one came out purple and one came out red!).  So I chose the red one, but I still got hair that was bright red from the chin up, and reddish brown from the chin down.  (What I did at this point was wear hats and bandanas a lot until my ends got sunbleached enough to match the rest of my hair, but it took a few weeks for that to happen).  My point being if you already have that problem, it may make it worse just to dye it red.  I'm not trying to be a downer, I hope it works out great - I'm not a pro, so I'm sure there's a way they can avoid it as long as they realize it may happen and prepare for it.  Good luck!

Woah hey that sounds exactly like my hair lol!

Unfortunately i can't being in the sun so it couldn't do a very good job of bleaching the ends.

Yeah i know wht u mean tho, i think they might have to "soap cap" theends a little just to brighten it up and then use a bright red demi over it. Of course at this point, it will come out darker but then once it fades my hair gets light again and if its even all over, i'll finally be really proud of my red! hehe.

I dunno tho, i'll have to see by consulting different colorists for their opinion, and whoever has the best solution i guess lol.

Becuz the first time i went red. the stylist was like, are u sure u want that bright red? And even tho i really like that i then showed her another pic that was slightly more red than orange, but similar, and that's wht i got, so this time i'll be like, yes that bright! Anyway thanx for the tips and stuff!

is there any bleach in ur hair? if not then i would try the orangy red shade in the hannalucent colors they sell at sallys. i always used to use this to refresh my red to that color when i was a bottle redhead. if you have bleached ur hair at all tho, it will turn out nessie green.

Oh hi, thanx for replies and stuff.

Bryan, I havent really done much to pursue this yet, altho, everytime i look at pics of myself the red keeps getting brighter! Which is really great, but lately I've been thinking abt going blonde, btw, no i don't have bleach in my hair. I just use really light reds to touch up the roots and then use vibrant red/orange semi's to liven it up. I've thought abt henna but i think i'd like a little change, altho i'd prob end going back to red! Lol i'm droning on here, but now my hair is almost that shade in the picture above! So yay...
