Hey, i'm new to this forum, but i really need help.  about three months ago i dyed my hair black.  Trying to get rid of the color i cut about 6 inches off.  My hair is now shoulder length, but it still looks really dark.  My question is is there anything i can do to change the color? i need advice.... thank you soo much!

Colorfix or bleach it... Depending on how much lighter you want it..

i would vote color fix. bleach caan be too tricky to do a color correction with.

you can do anything if you set your mindto it (just dont try this with hair, that could turn out bad)

My natural is dark brown, but since i died it black over highlights that i want to go back to, its now fading and i have lighter roots and shades of red throughout my hair.  I wanted to strip my hair and start all over by dying it brown then putting in highlights but i heard that my hair might break off...thank you sooo much for the advice and would love some more input

doing the rtriple process could potentially be damaging to your hair. i would strip out the color to a light redish-orange stage. then wait a day to make sure that putting in a new color does not oxidize the old color right inj again. then you would need to put high lift blonde dye with a green base where you want the highlights. then wrap those sections in foil and apply your base color to the rest of the hair. idk if this is too confusling. let me know if it is.

Besides what Bryan has written I want to emphasize that you aren't going to be able to put in highlights over hair you've dyed brown. The hair to be highlighted needs to be treated differently from the rest of the hair. I recommend you wait a few weeks, conditioning your hair well, then go to a colorist who specializes in fixing problems.
