Hi... I have a question regarding hair color removers. I have tried several different ones such as Igora Phantom(Modulat) and Colorfix. They did remove the BLACK from my hair but I am at a medium/ dark red stage and would like to be a little lighter without using bleach. Has anyone ever used Effasol? I have heard that it is more damaging than Colorfix but the Colorfix is not quite enough??Any suggestions? Thanks!! |

I tried a L'Oreal product to remove an unnatural red section from my hair. It wasn't labeled Effasol. It removed the pinkish red, but it lifted that section to a pale blond in less than half the recommended time. It is very bleaching.
I definitely recommend a strand test. ------------- 
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask? |

| I used effasol before to try and remove bright orange Ellumen from parts of my hair. It brought my brown to a mucky color and my orange to a peach! Not bad I guess considering after putting decolorizer all over afterwards, my hair was pretty much blonde! |

| I tried it once. It worked okay but it was more harsh than Colorfix. It did bleach my hair a bit. Colorfix did bring up my dyed black hair to reddish brown. But it may takes more than 3 rounds of colorfix (not on the same day) to reduce black dye. Black dyes are a pain in the neck to remove, anyone can attest to that. I've done it before many times. If you ever want to go back dark, dark brown is better than black anytime! Dark brown is a little easier to lift than any black shade. |

| I didnt know that using colorfix more than 3 times would do anything else. I thought after 3 rounds it stopped lightening? Thats good to know! Maybe I will try to lighten some more with the colorfix. Thanks! |

All color removers take out color but also exposes the undertone (which goes from red to orange , gold to yellow and then pale yellow) that the natural hair goes thru when it's been lifted with haircolor, it doesn't lift levels, so if you now need it lighter, move over to bleach + 20vol ONLY to lift it up to the level you want. - ; Mags Kavanaugh ASKMAGS.COM
