What do you use for a conditioner after you shampoo?
You should always use a conditioner after you wash. If your conditioner contains silicones (and maybe even if it doesn't) you should regularly rinse your hair with 1/2 cup vinegar mixed into a quart of water to remove buildup, which can cause more damage and make your ends seem even drier. I also recommend working a bit of jojoba into your hair as it dries. -------------

Are you using any hot tools such as irons or blow dryers?

| Well, i've been mixing my shampoo with water and conditioner. i use conditioner 1st, then the water, shampoo and conditioner, and then conditioner. Right after my hair dries, the ends feel fine, but after a day or 2 they feel really dry. I've just recently started doing this with my hair about a week and a half ago. before i started, i used a blow dryer all the time. i don't usually curl my hair or flat iron it though. What's jojoba? |

Jojoba is oil. You can usually find it at stores like Whole Foods or Vitamin Shoppe. I use Vitamin Shoppe's store brand. I got mine from Amazon.com so you can find it there too. The thing with Jojoba oil is that even if it seems expensive for a small bottle in reality a bottle should last you at least 6-12 months. It's something that you only use a drop or two of at a time. I personally just rub the drop in my palms and then touch my hair starting with the ends and going up. It's up to you whether or not to put it near the scalp. Usually the natural oil aka sebum will get to that hair. You can find some more threads on oils on the long hair support board. -------------
