If you remember my hair was broken off at the white line so I didn't bother taking anymore before pictures.

I decided to go for 18inch this time, its colours 613 and 18.  I used extentubes around the back and shrinkies cut in half at the sides x

Beautiful blending Amanda!

I'm always amazed at how all you DIYers get the back!

Watermark that!

Ha ha yes that's how I do the back of my hair, well and the sides as well actually, I rest a full length mirror inbetween those two chairs LOL xx

That's gorgeous! Blends so well. I don't know how you ladies manage doing it yourself. I can't even cut a curl that is too long in the back of my hair while looking in the mirror reflection in a mirror. I always miss and end up snipping air.

oh my gawd Amanda, that is FLAWLESS and I mean FLAWLESS. . .OK so spill the beans. . .did you use the method where you *don't* cut the hair after you've installed it? i.e. put it in at the length you want it, varying it each row? That's all I can figure, cuz those results are AMAZING. I too am in the awestruck crowd, scratching my head wondering how on *earth* anyone could do the back of her own head. But now that I see it involved moving furniture I understand better.

Oh one other question, what caused your hair to break before?

Posted By: Amanda8Beechwoo
Date Posted: July 20 2005 at 3:35am

Well how much am I blushing.

Fina - I just put the hair in.  I didn't cut it before or after LOL.

Cherry - My hair broke off with the sun and rigourous brushing whilst away getting married in Mexico.  Nothing to do with the extensions xx

OH and I've put the bigger front picture back up xx

OK, so this is interesting. You put the hair in and ended up with such an even finish. How many rows? How far apart? It doesn't look layered *at all* - it all looks one length - amazing!

HI there Fina.  I put in 18inch but got my hubby to cut an inch off to level it off so that's why it probably doesn't look too layered around the bottom.  There's probably just one layer at the very bottom xxx I probably put in around 7 rows in the back using every bit of hair I had and about 5 rows in the sides xx

Amanda, your hair is stunningly gorgeous.  You did such a beautiful job!!  I am wondering who cut your hair, and if you did how did you do it?  I am new to DIY and have really long hair.  My stylist and now me has always made it taper down to a V in the back.  I like that, but am wondering how I would cut it or precut it to be one length across like yours.  Thanks!
