Please tell me what you think. I'm the moderator for hairboutique.com's other website, Men's 360 Waves. It's for African American men who sport waves. I'm trying to encourage and educate them. It's a good faith try.

Thanks carameldiva, I'm graduating from UNT in the spring. I plan to keep doing what I do best. I'm also encouraging the brothers to take care of their hair and appearance.

Here's some 360wave pictures of some of my members.

Nice waves! I am so proud of what you wrote on both links.  I have just learned to fall in love with my hair. It is very curly/ kinky, and I think it is awesome!  It took a lot of engineering to come up with this unique head of hair!  But I just want to propose an idea to you.  I agree with the fact that our natural texture doesnt completely fit Americas beauty standards. But it seems to me like we, people of color, are our worst critics!! I have gotten many positive comments about my natural hair from people outside of my race.  And its sad to say, but our people including my family have turned their noses up at the sight of my natural hair.  Whats up with that? Has anyone else noticed this?

Yep, my mother is light skin with thin straight hair. She could pass for a Hispanic or even a white woman is some cases. Her side of the family are all light skin with straight hair. They all have a problem with the dark skin "kinky" hair sons that she brought into the world.

I remember growing up as the first male to be born among all light skin females that put me down and called me little "N" every chance they got. They would pinch me, push me, and my straight haired aunt would tell me "You eat more than what you worth". She had all girls and no father, no brothers, and no husband so she couldn't relate to males too well. She taught her (now college educated business women) daughters to hate men too. My mother would have to protect me from them because they were so mean to me. My brothers had it a little better than me because I was the experimental dark skin "kinky" hair little "N" long before they were born. I found out why when I got older. Part envy part self hatred. You see if you are light skin with straight hair corporate America accepts you, even more so if you are a female. Did you know light skin females with straight hair make twice as much money than a dark skin sister with "Natural hair"? It's a scientific fact that can be proven. But if you are dark skin male with "kinky" hair, well you know what they do to us don't you sisters. Jail, death, drug addiction, and joblessness (Rejection in Corporate America where some sisters now have control over). As a result we can't take care of our children and appear to the world as deadbeats dads and lazy useless men. This is when the drugs come into the picture to num the pain of being a dark skin MAN.
