Well, when my mom used to do my hair she would section it in 4 parts. Kind of like down the middle vertically, and across, horizontally. Then she would part each piece in the section and flat iron it. This makes it easier so ur hair won't be all over the place. Try using a hair tie for each section so it's organized and u can concentrate on 1 section @ a time. Hope this helps

Mostly I do the middle from forehead to nape---curled back and then each  side so that it curls down.  Or if I have a part in the front, I'll just work around that part.  After I flatiron down the length, I make a slight curl/bump on the ends and while it is still warm I pin the curl and clip it with a metal clip.  When I've done the whole head, I release the 4-5 clips and its nice and bouncy!

I usually start at the bottom and section off a one inch wide section at a time and clip the rest up outta my way.  When I finish flat ironing one section I put a band around it and just keep adding more sections till I get to the front
