Well, my wife was going for a new style. I gathered a number of pictures for her to look at and she chose one I picked out. A slightly stacked back and the sides about mid-ear with short bangs.
The hairdresser talked her out of going that short. Instead she has a chin length bob with a very slightly stacked back (a lot less than the pic my wife chose). She also is trying to get my wife to grow her bangs out. Luckily, my wife told her to cut the bangs (though she didn't cut them short enough) since my wife knows how much I love short bangs.
The hairdresser told her that she is taking "baby steps" in changing her hair. I'm afraid that she will continue to influence my wife into keeping her hair longer and worse of all, growing her bangs out.
I realize that she is a "professional" and the cut was very well done. My wife will listen to her over my opinion because "she is a professional and must know best".
Mainly, I am just venting. My feelings were hurt and I don't know how to convince my wife that just because she is a hairdresser doesn't mean she is right in the hairstyle she wants for my wife. Isn't it somewhat opinion and personal preference? Just a side note, my wife's friend had shorter bangs also but has been convinced by the same hairdresser to grow hers out.
