I would love to know some opinions on using synth hair for a full head weave.  I would use 2 packs of strawberry blonde on top, and do the bottom in burgandy.  I could do human hair though, but synth is cheaper.  BUT can you wash it???  What if rain gets on it - does it tangle?

And most important - would it look wiggy?

Thanks!  I'm new to this...

Hi and welcome! I'm not a synthetic expert but alot of the girls love it and wear nothing else. I have some I just haven't installed yet that I got from plastikhaar.com and it's very pretty! What kind of weave are you going to do? There is so much information on this board to answer most questions you can do a search at the top of the page and plug in what you are looking for. And yes, you can wash synthetic hair. I don't think it looks wiggy, look at some of the girls pictures of their hair, it's gorgeous!

Thanks Elvira

I'm going to do a sew in.  So far that seems like the best method to me because I don't plan for any of my real hair to show.

Hello,
I broke my foot got behind in my school work, so I have not posted in a while.

I have not posted pics yet, but I purchased hair from plastik hair a few months ago.... and I used the shrinkies that were highly redcommend by this site.... shrinkies net I believe is the name of the site... Awesome soap also  Thank YOU !

I tried using the liquid gold to make the tips, it was a mess yuk so I I used the tacky glue to make the rest of my tips.
Anyways I have had my plastik hair in for a few weeks and have lost about a dozen tips. I only put in one row and that was perfect ! it gave me the length and fullness with just one row to achieve the look I wanted. My hair is very fine and I found that I could use a very thin strand of my hair and made the tips very fine also and the shrinkies did shrink down very thin, and are hardly noticable.

I cut the platik hair about 3/4 length and it looks great! My neighbor liked it so much we did her hair last weekend also.
I am still figuring out how to work with the bulk hair I ruined a few of them the ends got so tangled by the time I finished making my tips I could not do anything with it, I ended up just cutting the 'matted' part of the end. Not sure how to avoid that?

I really like the hair though I would recomend using the 'smooth' conditioner from Plastik hair especailly if you have left the tips long. It makes a big difference and I found I did not 'shed' as many tips when brushing it out after using the smooth. Also if you twist it and roll it up in a bun after showering, and let it dry out anturally, it will get back the 'wave' it had when you first put it in.

I am getting ready to redo mine and add some color this time. I will try to figure out how to get the pics I took posted and do a before after and after, I really want to do add antoher  row of the plastik hair tips and leave them full length.  So I may give that a try her in the next few days after I replace the few shrinkies I have lost.
