Hi looking for some advice Over the last couple of days i have noticed clogs on soft wax throught my hair and when i have been brushing i have noticed strands of maybe about 10 hairs with wax at the end in my brush also when i feel the bonds they are really soft and well..quite waxy!! I am aware of one extensions at the front which has disappeared. I have also noticed that other surrounding hairs are sticking to the bonds due to them being so soft!! What are the possible explanations for the bonds going soft?!.. I have not been putting conditioner on my root area or using heat on the bonds although gather i must be doing something wrong! Any advice would be appreciated, many thanks x. |

If you are not using conditioner on them then it may be that your hair dryer is on a too high heat seating. In my experience the only thing i have found to cause this is conditioners / oils etc on bonds, greasy hair or too high with hair dryer. Also if you leave your bonds damp after washing this can also cause this. I go over all of the above with all my clients for their aftercare but other than this i have not experienced any other factors to cause this.

I'm not too good at this whole 'looking after' thing am i Perhaps i am leaving the bonds damp after washing as i tend to leave it to dry then blast the bonds with cold air!! Maybe that's where i'm going wrong, leaving them too long!! Is there anything i can do to make them hard again?? |

| I recall that you said in another post that they have been in about 6 weeks right? Thats what happens with the normal breakdown of the bonds, they start getting soft and coming apart. Are these fusion bonds? Its a little soon for fusion bonds to start breaking down, but then again I usually only go about 9 weeks between my fusion installs, Im pretty rough on mine. |

Yea they are fushion! Oh right i wasn't sure what the 'normal breakdown' timescale was, thanks for that :) |

| well I think the norm is 8-12 weeks. Just depends on the person and how you take care of them. I can never make it more than 8/9 weeks first due to new growth and second becuase I abuse the crap out of my hair! |

| When I use to do fusion they would get weird and sticky if the client used volumizing produts. Some styling sprays and produts turn the bonds in to a mess! |

Different shampoos/conditioners (espeically the ones for dandruff, but many other kinds too) will cause quicker breakdowns, as well as too much heat from the hair dryer. BUT, also check with the stylist and ask what kind of glue she used. Wax based fusion glue tends to get gummy and shed very quickly. Some fusion glues can be bought right out of the beauty supply store. I always ask the person behind the counters if they have fusion glue sticks and they usually do. They can be evasive when you ask about the brand, but I'm persistent and always get the info out of them, and it always turns out to be Torain. I used it once just to try it out and was not at all happy with it. It turned gummy/shedding very quickly. |
