Hi I need advice. First off, I am girl whose hair is totally virgin. I have never ever put any color at all on my hair. I have natural hair. When I was little I had very blonde hair but as I kept getting older and older it got darker and darker and now that I am almost 17 years old it's like a medium brown color. Like I said, I have virgin hair that's never been colored at all. I am going to make an appointment today to get a haircut & possibly highlights. I have shoulder length hair that is about 3 inches below my shoulders. I haven't had a haircut in a few months so now I am scheduling an appointment. Anyways I need advice & help about highlights. I DO NOT want dramatic highlights. I want them to be subtle. I've read up about highlights but still don't really know much about them. I know that highlights are usually done by foiling and that bleach is used to lighten hair. I will be having them done professionally at my salon too if I decide to get highlights. I was thinking about getting blonde highlights but not exactly sure what they would look like and if I would like them. I want to change my hair but not dramatically. I know that my stylist will have the answer but I was just wondering what everyone else thought. Are there different shades of blondes or what? I am DEFINITELY NOT getting red highlights. What I guess I am asking is.... can I or should I or what? What I mean is would some sort of blonde shade highlights look good on medium brown hair? Please give me advice. Although I probably won't use the advice I just want your opinions. I am gonna make sure that the answer I use is from a professional, what I mean is I am going to do what my stylist at my salon suggests. Well anyways... I guess that is all for now. Bye!

Hey, their is alot of different color of highlights: Honey, Caramel, Copper, and of course blonde. Honey I think looks best in brown hair, it adds depth without being to dramatic.Just my opinion but you are right, you should ask your stylist.
