Hello again People,

I just wanted to know what most of you do to keep your hair in top condition during the hot, dry, summer season.

#1 - I avoid the sun as much as possiable.

#2 - I keep my hair neatly clipped back when riding in a car with the windows down to stay away from unessessary tangels.

#3 - I wash my hair twice a week and deep condition it with hydrating products...more so if I have been swimming. I just hate clorine hair!!!!

#4 - I let my hair air-dry...no blow dryers for me.

#5 - I use hair oils.

#6 -  I ONLY comb with a wide tooth comb (I gave up my boars hairbrush)

if you have any suggestions...I would appreciate reading them!

Sounds like a great plan! I don't really have anything to add

Longbraidz - do you wash your hair every time after swimming in the pool?  If not, I'd advise doing so.  And wetting your hair with fresh water before going in the pool, so your hair is less inclined to soak in the chlorinated pool water.

Hi DaveDecker,

I most definantly wash my hair every time after swimming. I just hate the way the chlorine makes it feel afterwards...stiff and dry. Thank You for the advice on wetting my hair with fresh water before swimming. I will make a note of that and try it the next time I jump in the pool.

I think you have it covered. Personally, I seem to need less added moisture during the summer (I have not conditioned since May), but I take extra care of the ends, since I wear it braided more often (to get the hat on the head). I just dusted it and there was almost nothing to do, surprisingly it seems to wear and tear less now that itīs longer. Happily!

Even though my hair has only a slight wave to it in the winter, it's curly in the humidity, so I tend to just go with it because even attempting to wear it straight results in frizzier curls than if it was already curly at the start of the day. It's not worth the heat damage if my hair already knows what it wants to do.

Rachel: Well, then, couldn't she have just copied my haircut?
