Hi all. I have 100% virgin hair for the first time since I was 11 years old. (I'm 38 now.) I have been growing out horrible blonde for the past three years. Before that point, I had colored since I was 18; and going back farther than that, I used lemon juice, Sun-In or whatever I could get my hands on.

Anyway, now I think I'm a medium golden brown (naturally).

Can this particular tone do reds? I am not planning on coloring right now, but I hope to henna eventually as I get grayer (I just found my very first gray hair).

Any help would be great...thanks!

I don't think it would be a problem going red. Sounds like your a level 4 or 5. Do you do your own color or goto a salon?

Yes...goldends will take on reds fine !! Due test henna first...cuz If I'm not mistaken....you cannot color over henna if you don't like it...good luck

Yep if you color over Henna it will come out a disgusting yellow-green color.

Thank you! Right now I don't color my hair at all. The above is my natural color.

Golden blonds are at the red end of the blond hair color chart - so yes, red will do okay.

Ash blonds are not in the red family (a fact many people who post here complaining about getting 'orange' blond hair seem to forget).

Do NOT use henna, because if you do you will have to grow it out all over again. Nothing will take over a henna color, even the strongest bleach wont change henna. Please dont use henna.
