Ok....First of all I had the color fix in bag ready to go... then one of fellow employees said to buy Salon Care Color Corrector - cause it works sooo good Blah Blah....so I let her talk me into it.

I get home, mix it, apply it - nothing - not mention it stinks to HIGH heaven so then I decide to read the instructions ( yes too little too late) it states will not remove semi or demi permanent hair color. So, today I buy Color fix, applied the 1st time look like doing good, washed out applied again and better. But I was expecting to be more like a orangey, bleachey kind of look. Well the majority is still a little on the dark side, of ocurse it sin't fully dried yet. Now need help for next step......

So, The ideal look I am looking for is dark blonde with light blonde or vise versa. Can I apply the bleach now? I sure hope so cause my hair a bunch of different colors now....YIKES looks real bad. I am now wondering if this was such a good idea. Is it ok to apply bleach, can I then pull it thru the cap and add the highlights/lowlights? Or would this be too much in one day?

Hmmm I have no experience with ColorFix but I don't think putting bleach in your hair to raise your color to a dark blonde is a good idea. Too many chemical processes can damage the cuticle which protects the hair and gives it strength. The more chemical processes you perform on your hair the weaker that hair becomes. If you do too many over a period of time breakage at or near the scalp can occur and this could be extremely bad.

What is your natural haircolor? I think you might want to try something demi-permanent that won't damage the hair anymore. If your hair is a level 5 currently a light brown I think getting a level 5 demi-permanent haircolor and then going over that with a clear haircolor to close up that cuticle and give you some shine. The clear is to help ensure the color you just applied.

I'm going to assume that color fix that you used has blown open the cuticle layer of your hair and if you go in with a demi-permanent even though it's deposit only.....it won't lift or lighten your current haircolor but it will even out that color if you color it the same level as what it currently is. If that cuticle is open like I think it would be after stripping color out of your hair the demi-permanent color can actually stain that cuticle so it lasts as long as a permanent haircolor. Then follow it up with a clear coat to provide shine and close down that cuticle and live with the color for a few months and do some deep conditioning treatments or get some Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner and apply it daily.

If you jump to the bleach or think oh I'll just lighten it a slightly and it won't be as bad your going to sadly mistaken. If your going lighter it's bleach that's the active ingredient and after the processes you've just done to your hair I'd highly recommend against trying to go blonde right now. You could end up making a HUGE hair disaster.

Ok here is the basic low down. My natural hair color is um...been so long I don't remember. Just kidding  Actually my natural hair color is dark brown. About 6 months or so, I had heavy highlights and my hair was down to the middle of my back.

I had a death very close to me(and was having such a hard time, I felt I needed something different), and one day (hasty hasty decision) I got it cut into a stacked bob which was cute for about 3 minutes since I LOVE long hair. So, when she cut all my hair off the back was way darker than the front. So, I wanted something that wasn't as harsh on my hair, and I wanted all my hair to be one color - my natural color. So, I thought semi-permanent would be the best way to go. I spoke to a few people that came into the store (Sally's - I work there) and people were coming with this shiny gorgeous hair. They were using Colorgems semi-permanent, so used I dark brown, came out black. I thought ok this will fade, NOT, never faded that was six months ago. Meanwhile my hair has started to grow out by this time, I HATE it, so I started wearing the clip-on ponytails which matched up wonderfully.

Now brings us to the present, I am tired of it. It is dreary, and I don't think my husband really cares for it all that much. He suggested I go back to blonde. Now the dilemma is that I want 2 shades of blonde, kind of a dark with lighter highlights. I have gotten conflicting statements about what to do. I was told to use colorzap which I was told (and read on here)is very harsh, so then I was convinced that color fix was the way to go only to be trned bk around to the color corrector which did nothing. My expectations were these applications would lift the color to light brown? orangey? something I could work with. It has lifted all right to 10 different shades of crap....sorry but thats what it looks like. ok so I also bought a wella color mailbu blonde (which is dark) base is brown thinking this would be my base color per say and then I would add highlights.

UGH! I am so frustrated, and I am almost tempted to just put it back the way it was at least it was all one color.

My husband will return home on Sunday, I have to have it fixed by then.

Sorry for the lengthy post...but it kind of explains everything.

I am so sorry this is happening to you.  What a mess!  Okay, listen.  At this point, you NEED to see a color specialist. One who does corrective coloring.  Anything else you do to your own hair will likely cause further problems.  Your goal is a dark blonde base with lighter blonde highlights, right?  That is a tough look to achieve at home even when your hair is not multiple colors, and that is why I am pushing the salon idea. Right now you have too much going on. When you go to the salon, tell them what you did (be honest!) You may not get the dark blonde w/highlights when you visit the salon the first time.  They first have to deal with getting you back to one normal color.  They may advise you to leave it alone for awhile as bleach or hi-lift color will likely cause unnecessary damage. Whatever they say, please listen.  I can't imagine that you will leave the salon with worse haircolor than you say you have right now.

Once again, I'm sorry for your dilemma.  But I think better hairdays are coming!
