Ladies, what products do you use after a fresh relaxer (or if you're natural- a fresh press/flat iron) to keep the hair moisturized but still maintain body and bounce without weighing the hair down? I relaxed this weekend and it turned out great. Maximum swing-ability and I want to keep it that way as long as possible since I rarely wear my hair out! Right now I'm just applying a little virgin coconut oil or hair glosser to the ends. What do you use?

~thnx~

I use Black and Sassy oil sheen spray.  It does a great job of keeping my hair super straight and shiney.  I just spray a little on my ends and then wrap my  hair.  I love the results.

Your welcome. Just glad to help.  I hope that works for you.  Everybody's hair reacts different so it's hard to tell until you try it.  I really do like the Black n' Sassy oil sheen spray though, even though it has mineral oil in it.  It dosen't have alcohol though.

It has mineral oil? Oh, I don't know then I've tried so hard to get my hair "on the right track"  I don't know if applying a mineral oil product would eventually be a set back. I am soooo new to this hair thing that I don't know anything anymore??! I have to admit b4 finding this & other forums, I'd put mineral oil, petroleum and all the other "bad things" on my hair. My hair wasn't terrible, but now that I've cut those out it's getting healthier and I don't want anything to hinder that. I know we all have different hair types and what works for some may not work for others, but I'm glad your hair likes it (it's beautiful) Not sure how mine would react to it though. Thanks for the suggestion - again you're so helpful & ready w/ advice

Thank you Browneyez.  I don't blame you about the bad products.  That's why I thought I'd let you know that mineral oil was in it cuz I know a lot of people don't use stuff with that or petroleum in it.  Me personally, I've been using stuff with those ingredients in it all my life and didn't even know they were bad until I started visiting hair forums so I figure i might as well keep using it since I haven't noticed any major problems.  I have tried to cut back on products with those ingred. in it though.  There are just so many good ones that I hate to give up and it seems that everything you pick up has the "bad" ingredients in it.

I've tried Nasabb's Kelechi hair oil and it is good.  No bad ingred.  It has almond oil, castor oil, wheat germ oil, olive oil, lavender oil and peppermint oil. http://nasabb.com/catalog/kelechi_hair_oil-4oz_494761.htm - http://nasabb.com/catalog/kelechi_hair_oil-4oz_494761.htm

I am glad that you've found a regimen that your hair likes and I hope it continues to thrive!
