Well, as Fantasy Football time approaches again, it reminds me again, of how the most interesting players are the sleeper picks that no one has ever heard of, that are little known, or that have been written off and forgotten that turn out to be a star before the season is over.

In that spirit, I once again point out a few celebs who's haven't been mentioned for a while or at all as folks you should keep an eye out for in the coming months.  In other words, here are my picks for Fantasy Hairball 2005:

Annie Parisse (NBC, "Law&Order").

Replaces the wooden Elizabeth Rohm (who also has really nice hair) and returns the female ADA back to her brunette roots, a la Angie Harmon.  Annie has great naturally wavy hair that's layered allowing her to go straight and curly equally well.  Check out Getty Images for some good curly/wavy pics.

Selma Blair

Yes, I know it's straight and center parted (sorry Andy), but darn it, the length, color, and style look good on her.  And Selma should ALWAYS have some form of bangs.

Jenna Elfman

Yes, Dharma is back and on CBS this fall, equipped with quite the fabulous curly blonde mane.  I knew her natural curls and waves looked great when she used them, but who knew the length would work so well?

Kristen Bell (UPN, "Veronica Mars")

Yes, she's on one of my favorite shows, but she also has great hair.  And knows how to work it, changing her look not only from episode to episode, but in virtually every personal appearance.  Poke through DailyCeleb and see what I mean.  She's darn versatile.  Oh, and freakin' adorable.

"Grey's Anatomy" - Ellen Pompeo, Katherine Heigl, and Sandra Oh (ABC)

A plethora of good hair on this show, so it's hard to single one out.  All have great styles and great color.  Will be fun to see how or if they evolve over the season next year.

Kelly Preston

Yes, Mrs. John Travolta.  Just keeps getting better with age.  Since she's gone brunette, let it grow a bit, and embraced her natural wave, she's hit her stride on a variety of flattering styles.  She's looking equally terrific straight or curly.  Must be nice when EVERYTHING works.

So, those are a few of my pics.  Anyone else have someone we should watch?  That, uh, doesn't do the local weather in Munich?

As usual,

JF

Thanks for your investigative report, JF.  I personally agree on all counts (Selma Blair and Jenna Elfman -- whoa! ), except for Kelly Preston.  Although I despise the dyed blonde trend in celeb circles these days, I think she looked better as a blonde.  Just my opinion.   It would be fun to derive a list of others, but darnit, I just don't get around to it.

Evangeline Lilly of "Lost" is one of my favorites on TV right now.  With no beauty shops on the island, she'll just keep getting longer and longer:

Courtney Thorne-Smith ("According to Jim") has finally done something about that Jane Fonda "Klute" look and has left it alone and let it grow; but she could go short again like she did on "Ally McBeal."

Kimberly Williams-Paisley (also "According to Jim") always looks great.  She went short several years ago in the for TV movie "The 11th Kingdom" and I thought she looked great.

Emily Proctor of CSI Miami is just great.  She flirted with bangs last season.  She's so petite; she could easily pull off a pixie.

Jill Hennessy from "Crossing Jordan" needs something; maybe an update to the chin length bob she wore when she was on "Law and Order?"

Thanks, Flea. The Selma and Jenna photos were especially exciting. I saw Selma with long bangs a couple days ago and thought the same thing: how they work for her. I'm glad Jenna's kept the length and am eager to see her back on TV.

It's interesting that you mentioned Elizabeth Rohm. Any sightings of her since she left Law and Order? I thought her hair was at its peak when she departed.

Hawg, I agree that Courtney's hair is best when longer and that it has been a struggle to get there. I remember she used to get commercial endorsements for skin-care products, but I haven't seen any of her commercials since her hair went shorter.

Marcia Cross was on David Letterman the other night and her hair was extended to BSL. She never looked better and I remember her from her younger soap opera days.

And Dave, seriously, is it really fair for one of the posters to have better hair than all of the celebrities?

Thanks, JF! I thought Jenna looked cute with short hair, but now she is a quintessential babe! Keep it growin', Jenna!!!
I hate to "me too" someone, but I like Kelly Preston blonde much better. Usually I prefer brunettes keeping the brown, but she and Brooke Burns are exceptions, more so Brooke.  (Actually,  I miss the long more than the blonde on Brooke. She looks incredibly blase bobbed. End of ramble! lol)
Just one more comment- I think Courtney Thorne Smith going short years ago was one of the worst celebrity hair decisions ever. Were I her manager, I'd have tackled her en route to the salon. It's about time she's gaining some length back. Bob

Moi?  Thank you for the compliment, but this board is for discussion of celebrities' hairstyles.  It goes without saying that I'm not a celebrity.  I mean, it's not like you could google me or anything...
