how strong is aphogee, because i do have alot of breakage especially when i wash my hair, and im trying to stop the breakage. If you use aphogee do you follow it with the moisture balance conditioner or can you use any conditioner

Hey, I use the ApHogee Treatment for damaged hair and the balancing moisturizer(I also follow up w/ a reg. conditioner after). But I use it faithfully every six weeks and must say have seen a HUGE improvement in my hair. I was getting a lot of breakage before and a friend of my sister's(who is a hairdresser) suggested the treatment and it stopped my breakage completely and my hair is much healthier. ~hth~ Oh, also wanted to add that my hair is relaxed.

You're not asking too many questions....Girl, we all have questions that's why we're here!!

But, the only other ApHogee product I use is the Pro-Vitamin Leave-in Conditioner. I use that as my leave-in after washing/cond. It's a great detangler and stops breakage. I've also heard the ApHogee 2-minute reconstr. is good as a lighter protein. You want to be sure not to add too much protein to your hair or it will cause dry and brittle hair.  The 6wk treatment & leave-in seem to be enough for me. I think the line is good for stopping breakage(if you have a lot) and bringing your hair back to life. It worked for me anyway. I'm sure there are some other treatment lines as well, but this is the only one I've tried and it works so I don't fix what ain't broke.

do you have to use the balancing moisturizer,  it has mineral  oil and petrolatum two ingredients i dont like. how did it work for your hair.

It does have mineral oil(which I just condemned in the Black & Sassy ) & petroleum but I only use it ONCE every 6wks(not something applied to my hair daily/weekly, etc) and it works for my hair. IMO, the silk amino acids, collagen and panthenol kinda balances out the "bad stuff".I also follow it up w/ a extra moist. cond. I don't use any other products w/ those ingr. so I don't think I'm doing any damage. No problems thus far, and I've been using the treatment/balancing moist. for over a year now. But again, you have to find what works for your hair. ~hth~

okay im going to buy aphogee, but my only problem is i really wanted to buy aubrey organics shampoo and conditioner but it has protein in it. Theres such great ingredients like  mango butter, jojo butter, and shea butter. Wouldnt thhose ingredients help to down play the protein or is bad to use shampoos and conditioners with protein in them if ypur using aphogee.

if you use shampoos and conditioners with protein in them, that will be protein overload and will make your hair very dry and brittle. might even cause more breakage. after any protein treatment, you have to moisturise heavily

I like the Aubrey line conditioners. They work very well. In fact, a women on the Long Hair Care Forum uses nothing but Aubrey and she has hair down to her butt! But I am not fond of the shampoos. They make my hair hard. The GPB Protein Conditioner is good. I used Aphogee Reconstructor and I also liked that for a light protein treatment.
