ok i been growin my hair out for like a month and now its startin to grow ova my hairline to much so im gettin a cut.my top has alot of close waves, left side a lil bit of waves but look like you cant see them due to length, and my back has waves similar to top, right side not trained yet, starting ova afta cut.......... i'm getting a haircut 2morrow and i dont want the barber to mess me up cause if he do, bye bye wave game, so what do i ask for i was thinking dark ceasar but i dont know if i tell him to cut with the grain or against. Or, do i tell him jus not to cut my waves out? -scurlboy

It doesn't really matter if you go with the grain or against the grain. There's this myth circulating that ATG cuts messes up your wave pattern and it can make you lose waves---->THAT'S NOT TRUE. You just can't use the same clipper guard size for the WTG cut with a ATG cut and expect the same results.
WTG leaves hair longer, so you can use a smaller guard, and is harder to make even . ATG leaves hair shorter, and everything is cut evenly. If you want a dark ceasar get either a #2 WTG, or a #3 ATG. I just got a ATG cut a couple of days ago and my waves still look good. I posted a pic of it in the topic called 360SPINNA'S WAVE PROGRESSION. The pic is near the end. ------------- |

YO CUT WITH THE GRAIN. When you have waves, dont ever let anybody, cut ur hair against the grain. |

I know what I am talking about, I done it for years. I think ATG is better, all the bad stuff you hear about it is a lie. I even combed my hair ATG AND NOTHING HAPPENED. STILL GOT MY WAVES

My barber cut my sh*t real low and atg a few weeks ago, but my hair and waves grew back fine -------------

I WOULDN'T GIVE YALL ANY ADVICE THAT WOULD HURT YOUR PROGRESS, I'VE HAD
WAVES OFF AND ON FOR THE PAST 8-10YRS AND IT WASN'T UNTIL I CAME TO
THIS WEBSITE AND TWISTA'S THAT I HEARD OF THIS WITH THE GRAIN CUT, I
TRIED IT TWICE AND I LIKE THE AGAINST THE GRAIN BETTER, ITS ALOT
EASIER, FASTER AND YOU HAIR IS EVENLY CUT. YOU CANT GUARANTEE YOUR HAIR
