Hi Ladies.

I was wondering a few things about pressing hair.  One is how do you tie your head up when taking a shower?  I wrap mine up in a scarf and then put on a shower cap, but still moisture can get up in there and revert my hair right after I get it done.  Is there something else I can use that will keep the moisture out?  Also, what can you do when pressing your hair to get it as straight as possible?  I was using an electric comb, but then thought that maybe natural heat would straighten better than heat generated by electricity.  I can only speculate on this because I am no professional.  Do you ladies have any tips on how I can get my hair as straight-looking as maybe a relaxer.  I've seen women who have, but I figured they just had a better grade of hair than me.  I am a 4a/4b.  Please help!

that is the same mystery I myself have been trying to figure out. I hve decided to go to a pro and see how it is done then try it on my own.

hey girl,,, what i do to keep the humidity from the
shower out is to cover my hair with a large tight
headband then put on a shower cap ,, this works for
me becuz not only does it cover the hair but the tight
headband pulls the hair straight,, as for the
straightening ,, i have 3b hair and i still cant get it
perfectly straight unless i use a relaxer,, i use just for
me childrens relaxer and it realy doesnt break my
hair,, its almost like virgin hair but easier to manage,,
and then flat iron with a hair serum like NTM or john
frieda relax.....

When I shower I usually have my hair wrapped with 2 scarves on...yeah two, don't laugh.  One is put on like you tie a scarf regular and the other is flipped around tied backwards like aunt jemima.  Then I put my shower cap on.  This is how I sleep also...minus the shower.  This way water dosent get on the back part of your hair either.  I don't want no water gettin in!

The other way I do it is to put my hair in a bun, then put one of those big satin scarves on so it covers my whole head...bun and all, then shower cap.

I've had no luck with the electic pressing combs.  I found that flat ironing works better for me and gets my hair the straightest. HTH
