In a recent thread we got to talking about Catherine Mary Stewart & "The Last Starfighter" & "Night of the Comet".  Well here is some exciting news from TVGuide.com:

"TALE OF THE COMET: More than 20 years after the sci-fi comedy http://tvguide.com/redirect?type=movies&keyword=Night+of+the+Comet - Night of the Comet had its day, the cult classic is getting a sequel. Leading lady http://tvguide.com/redirect?keyword=kelli+maroney - Kelli "Daddy would've gotten us Uzis" Maroney and writer-director Thom Eberhardt (Parker Lewis Can't Lose) are producing the follow-up, in which we'll learn how the original's boy-crazy heroines (Maroney and http://tvguide.com/redirect?keyword=Catherine+Mary+Stewart - Catherine Mary Stewart of Weekend at Bernie's) fared at repopulating the world with lucky, lucky http://tvguide.com/redirect?keyword=robert+beltran - Robert Beltran (Star Trek: Voyager)."

I am really looking forward to this & seeing how different they both look now.

I. . . actually have seen _Night of the Comet_ in all its low-budget cheesiness. . . and I can honestly say it's one of the last movies I would've expected for a sequel.  Yet, I'm curiously drawn to the idea O_o . . .

I loved Night of the Comet back in the 80's.  It was pure, cheesy entertainment.  I thought Catherine Mary Stewart disappeared off the face of the earth after that.  Guess not!
