H, sorry to post another one of these but anyway

I have naturally very dark brown hair and i died it blonde a few years ago, not a good look on me so i died it permanent brown and have left it to come out for about a year and is only half way down my hair and i want to go back my natural dark brown.

i did think about stripping the colour out but i heard that it makes your hair orange, so i thought about putting a wash in wash out dye, would that make any difference to the already permanently died hair and would it make take longer to come out?
and what about stripping the colour out and then dyeing it with a wash out colour close to my own would that work?

and how long would it take to come out if i just left it?
any help would be great thanks

So its halfway down your hair, and the top half if your natural dark brown which you want?  I'd just wait it out, its not much longer now.  If you start messing with it now you'll have to start over your growing out process to get your natural hair color back (because you probably won't have much luck just dying the previously dyed parts and getting them to match, so you'll be processing the new growth too, and even then it may come out two different tones.  Hair normally grows about a half inch a month, so you can calculate how long it will take to grow out if you want to keep the same length you have now.

this is what i did.  i grew my hair out about four or five inches of new growth, and then decided to have it dyed to match so that i wouldn't have two toned hair.  i went to a salon to do it, and now all my new growth is lighter and i really wish i'd never done it.  i have to start all over.

I don't know how extreme the difference is between your two colors, but how about putting a clear gloss over the whole head just to even out texture and help hide the difference? Don't strip your hair when you've worked so hard to grow it out!

If the difference is too extreme, get a semi-permanent (deposit only) at Sally's like colorgloss and just put that on. But you might have to keep using it and it will change your natural hair slightly. But then when the dyed color grows completely out you could switch to gloss only until it is all gone.
