it is a discussion board for everyone, and sorry you feel left out, but the more you come and the more people get to know you, the more people will contribute. Its not ment in any sort of deliberate way, its just human nature, we all try to help, but yes, sometimes I will ignore posts if I feel that I have nothing to contribute to them.

i dont think this board is cheeky. newbies are always welcomed. as kalika said the more you post the more you get to know people. the more give you give out in reponses to other posts generally the more you get back. sometimes people just dont have the answer to a post and sometimes it has been answered so many times .. you just have to search for it.

That's what I think, if something has been asked I tend to get a bit bored with responding to be honest I know that sounds really bad for newbies but its just the way everyone feels to be honest. I think we need a section where we can store things or something x Is there anything you need to know chick x

I've personally never experienced that, even though I rarely post :P (mostly because I search thru previous posts - and almost always find the answers i'm looking for in those! )
I also don't post to threads I feel I can't contribute to :)

I will freely admit that I respond more quickly to threads started by people I "know"
However, I try to add something to threads where I have any knowledge eventually.
I'm guessing, I'm part of this 'clique' as well, but half the time very few people have a response to my posts...

I'm a newbie and all of my posts have been responded to, like Aeone said though, I always try and find the answer I need before I post though... so maybe its just your posts have already been answered in previous threads...
As far as message boards go, this one is waaaay more welcoming that 99% of other boards I've posted on.

I haven't been here all that long but I found it rather easy to merge in with the flow here. I have noticed a bit of impatience with people who post things like "what is a shrinkie?" and stuff like that which can be easily researched here through the search but all and all have found most everyone to be very helpful to newbies.

ouch....Im sorry that you feel like that SPP, youve been around here quite sometime. I try to answer ANYONES posts...whether it be a newbie or a veteran, if I know the answer. If I dont know I tend to leave it alone for someone more qualified and experienced to help.
I did see your last two posts both which were about hairraisers course. I dont think many people here are familiar with hairraisers. I personally dont know anything about hairraisers....I had nothing to contribute, and your last post didnt ask any questions you just said that you went on the course and what the cost was in UK. I just have no knowledge of hairraisers or nothing to contribute to the thread. It had nothing to do with any 'clique' whatsoever!

I agree with everything that has been said. Some times my posts generate quite a few responses ~ on the other hand other ones have gone unanswered. So I don't think it has anything to do with who is posting. I think that it's either because it's repetitive and you can find the answer in the archives (like everyone has said) or because no one has the answer. And sometimes things get lost in the shuffle too.

I know I try to answer the unaswered ones , I feel bad to see that 0. Eaven if it is just to advise a search or recomend someone who might have the answers. Some times you have to bump your question back to the top so it has another chance to be seen. I too read your post about the class but just didnt have a responce to it. Come on you've been on this board for quite awhile now that makes you part of the click girl lol!

Hi Shockin...if it is any consolation, I post on a lot of the different HairTalk boards...not just this one....and most people never respond to my posts at all. It used to hurt my feelings but then I decided that either the other visitors don't have anything to add to my posts..or...they are so lame (my posts) that they don't want to embarrass me by answering them...LOL...or that they just get distracted and buzz off somewhere else.
Of course I don't have any friends either like AMM. (Love that answer AMM).
Also....if you pose a very specific question...you may get more answers than if you don't.

I a newbie with a whopping 47 posts. I don't have a whole lot to contribute so I read way more than I post. I'm still learning so much from this board. I appreciate each and every posts because there is so much great information being passed along.
I will always share and contribute when I can!

Interesting. I actually thought this was one of the more friendlier boards. I've been on boards before where you get totally ignored unless you act an ass, then they'll pay attention to you.
I don't really post that much but when I do I don't feel ignored. I will admit that if the question has been answered 1000 times already I won't respond but I"m often amazed at the lengths regular posters will go to answer a question that can be answered by doing a search. That's why I say this board is pretty friendly.

I posted a question on the hair color section of this board that never had one reply. My paranoia surfaced and I wondered...are my pants unzipped...something in my nose...did they hear about the tampon incident during racquetball? And then reason took over and I realised probably nobody cared to answer the question because they didn't know the answer or it was an irrelevant question. Compared to other boards this one is especially inclusive. Truthfully, I'm not on here to make any friends...so Amm and I should get along just fine. It's just a really great source of information for my addiction...not to mention entertaining.

OK, the thread topic is on hold because delin has a story to tell us.
Tell it, delin. These are the moments when we all become closer.

Shockingpetals:
I am also sorry to hear that you feel that way. I doubt anyone meant it on a personable level. Many members have been talking hair on this board so it would make sense that they "know" each other and are comfortable with each other and more personable. Also quite normal for the "newbies" to feel left out at times. I think that is a normal feeling in the beginning but in order to get past the feelings of being the new girl, posting more frequently is a way to get over being new and to feel more comfortable. I'm sure many of us have started new jobs and felt left out in the beginning until we get comfortable. When I'm in that situation of feeling uncomfortable, I try to focus on helping someone that is newer than me in any situation. How about trying to make it a point to respond to newbies to make them feel comfortable? You'll soon forget about the way you had felt and the next thing you know, your comfortable in your posts and helping others as well.
I don't think anyone intentionally ignored your posts on a personable level. I know I didn't know the answer to the hairraisers question as well as most on this board. And don't forget we are dealing with all (mostly) women with all different personalities and backgrounds. I beleive that most people here want to discuss hair, not win a popularity contest. I hope that you post more often and don't leave this board.
