Fall is almost here and with it comes windy cool temps and cozy sweaters (And sweet potato pie, but that's besides the point!). Are any of you changing your regimens as the cooler weather comes in? If so what are you changing, adding, or getting rid of?

Well I really don't rinse my hair during the week, during the colder months. I just wash once a week  (at night) the braid up my hair and pin it up, make sure to apply a moisturizer or a sprizt before I go out in the morning.  Alot of times, I wear a headwrap when I go out in the cold.

I use pure castor oil on my ends in the cooler months. It's alittle bit heavier but it keeps the hair moisturized and protected. I get it from the health food store. I might invest in a silk hair wrap for my hair instead of a hat. My hair does not do good with hats.

Well, I changed my regimen a little bit. Here it is. I think it'll apply throughout the year, not just for the fall season:

* Shampoo and Condition w/ Fantasia tea tree products ONLY the third Friday of each month. So this means only once a month for less manipulation.

* Instead of washing once a week, do an Apple Cider Vinegar rinsing/conditioning instead. I usually apply ACV diluted w/ water and put it on my scalp and hair. I leave it on for 30 minutes and my hair feels great.

* Always following an ACV rinsing or washing, apply WGO. SO this means once a week, basically

* Moisturize roots, ends, and scalp when needed by using Hawaiian Silky products

* Still use protective styles (buns) and comb very gently. No heat, except on bangs when needed

That's about it!

jasmine, i agree with honeydoo. try castor oil. or shea butter. shea butter totally stops breakage and sheddding when i use it on my ends.

Well I think my regimine was probably too much for the summer (I'm a moisturizer/oil junkie) but I don't care as long as my hair stays on my head. But I think that it will be fine for the fall/winter season, I'll keep ya'll posted though either way.

Oh, and I like Mango butter for the ends when I really want to lube them up...

I just got about an inch-an inch and half cut off all over my hair (now its really layered and the longest layer just hits my shoulders). I'm trying to grow it out as much as possible by next summer so I've started giving my hair some serious love.

My fall/winter regimen will be:

*try to not blowdry my hair more than twice a month

*hot oil treatments once a week

*deep conditioning treatment every other week

*try to keep ends moisturised

Good luck to everyone on their regimens!

I don't think my regimen will change much.

We don't have many really cold days in TX, I will still be transitioning until December when I BC, I will probably change some thing then. I will probably moisturize when it's really cold.

Right now, I'm 9 weeks post and I'm stretching to the end of October (around my b-day.). I've been doing an extra condition wash in between and it helps ALOT.
