I got my heat wand about 1 month ago from http://salon.wimexbeauty.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=68631&Category_Code=7705 - http://salon.wimexbeauty.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=P ROD&Product_Code=68631&Category_Code=7705

and it's not getting hot enough to melt my prebonded hair (I prebonded it with haircandy's fusion chips) and i was wondering how long should it take to heat up to the max temp?

I have only used mine with shrinkies.  But I would assume that in 5 min. it should be at max temp.  I tested mine with a thermometer and it went past 200degrees F.

I have that wand, too.  So far I've only used it for heat seals, but it got plenty hot to melt Plastikhaar.
