I don't do hairlocs so I can't speak for that product, but I do eurolocs.  Eurolocs are similar to hairlocs, it's copper ring that is crimped on to hold the hair extension piece. 

I have seen a lot of breakage from eurolocs and don't do that method anymore. I think the problem is that when the bead is crushed, it forms rough edges, and that chews away at the hair and cuts into it.

I have installed many wefts with the rings also.  I make a 'track' with the rings and then sew the weft onto that track.  It works well and it's easy to do and easy to take off if done right.

i dont think everyone hates hairlocs-

Just because someone take the class and gets certified to do hairlocs, doesnt mean they take care of the clients hair and is concerned about the removal process as well. The same goes for becomming a stylist, just cause you go to school to learn to do hair, doesnt automatically mean you really know what u are doing or for that matter care!

the tube, or shell or ring or loc- what ever you want to call it- if it is crimped or squeezed too tight, it could cause breakage.

The hairlocs kit comes with a tool to remove the locs which has two pointed ends that gets inserted into the shell to open it up to do the maintance. If inserted hard or rough, this can cause breakage.

I personally do not use that tool to remove, i use a special tool which rounds the shell to open on its own.

 I do individual strands along with wefts and take extreme care and time to make sure the loc is not crimped or "crushed" tightly into the hair.

Doing any type extensions takes skill and time to apply correctly. It takes practice and experience to do it right. I am passionate about the care of my clients hair, i do know there are others out there as well that feel the same way, however, unfortuatley, not everyone who does extensions feel that way. That is also the reason alot of gals have learned to apply extensions themselves from poor installs, wether it be hairlocs, doc locs or glue or fusion or whatever.

Alot of people are doing extensions now a days and some of them, their only goal is to make money.

Locs, Shell, Tubes, Coils, Metals, Rings are all similar.  I was trained in EuroLocs.  Same thing.

If the Locs, Shell, Tubes, Coils, Metals, Rings, are installed properly, maintained correctly then there should be NO reason to HATE.

I have read some websites of technicians in their way of maintenance.  After reading some, I was shocked!!!  This one website, says that she opens up the coil, clean the shedding hairs, push up the very same coil and press to seal.

When I maintain my Locs, Shell, Tubes, Coils, Metals, Rings, installs, I REMOVE the ENTIRE Locs, Shell, Tubes, Coils, Metals, Rings and the hair, and start all over again!!! 

Do you realize how much crap is in the client's hair if they just open and push up the Locs, Shell, Tubes, Coils, Metals, Rings?

FYI- The website I saw this in claims to send her clients to a salon to finish up their cut and styling.  Bottom line, this 'stylist' is a scam artist.  Which is why, you read about bad jobs and amazing jobs.  Some 'stylist' are NOT serious when it comes to their clients' hair.

I have the opener thingie from doclocs. Could someone tell me how we are suppose to use it...just so I can verify that I am using it correctly .  Doclocs video never shows how to open them with the opener, they just use the regular micro ring plier thing to open them.  We had a lot of trouble with them crimping, especially the ones sewn to wefts. If someone could give me clear details how to use the opener thingie or the  best way to open up the rings, it would be highly appreciated.
