People who have followed my situation, or have a similar problem, here is my moment of truth....

I have pre-lightener on my hair, it's nearly time to rinse it off...my hair isn't falling out :D  in fact, it's really strong, i've just been tugging it.  The colour so far is orangey/browny just as I wanted (to be able to dye over).  I'll let you know the end result very shortly.......ooooh

Hi there...wow!  I have bright copper funky hair!!!  The tips are slighter darker, but it's precisely what I wanted.  My hair has been left strong and sleek, despite it just being bleached :D

I reccommend L'Oreal Super Blonde!

The colour I want is Ultra Violet Brown to go over this orange-ness....although it looks pretty cool on it's own!

Hi, me again...

Just thought I'd let you know that I left my bleached orangey hair for 24 hours before i dyed over it (i know you're supposed to leave it longer but I started college the day after).  I put an intensive conditioning mask on overnight (although my hair wasn't left in bad condition anyway) and in the morning washed it all out.  My hair is now red/purple with brown undertones and I absolutely love it.  It's great to get that black out after 2 years of trying without bleach.

As long as you're careful and you treat your hair well beforehand and after, pre-lightening the hair is a simple and effective process.  It is not guaranteed to work on black hair as well as on lighter hair, but it worked superbly for moi.  That's L'Oreal Super Blonde I used.

Thanks for all your advice everyone.

Louie
