Hello all.  So glad that I found this board.

I have been thinking about getting extensions for the longest time and need some help on the decision.  I currently have almost shoulder length hair.  I have the Martina McBride haircut and have been growing it out for the past 6 weeks.  I miss having my long hair and am thinking about getting extensions, but don't know if I want the clip in or the glued in.  I know the glued in ones are pricey, and with the upkeep, don't know if I can afford that much.  So I thought of the clip in ones.  But I am afraid that if I spend the $250 for the clip ins and don't like how they look (seeing the clip, seeing the shorter hair of mine) that I am stuck.  I know that Jessica Simpson and Faith Hill are always wearing extensions and look so natural and those are the clip ins.  I am interested in getting these for clip in extensions  http://www.easixtends.com/ - http://www.easixtends.com/  and the model has shorter hair and they look so good.  Just wondering what you all would recommend.

Or if I went with clip ins, do you think my stylist would put them in for me and show me how to do it good?  Decisions decisions. Thank you

I had * ounces of clip in extensions and I could NEVER get them to blend right and when I got close Id end up looking like I have a mushroom head. The problem w/ clip ins are that the wefts plus the clips are bulky and make your head look fat( sorry its true =P) they also slide some and are a pain to put in and take out everyday. the person in the picture of the link you posted probably has the same length of hair as the extensions therefore there is not a blending problem. Thats just my opinion and I know other people have had better results but I didnt. It maybe because my clip ins were double wefted i dont know. Good luck w/ your decision

for better quality remy hair extensions  on ebay you have to pay around $ 160.00 (22")

a 7 pc set from jasmins dream weaves culticle stripped hair the set is double wefted so the wefts are a lil thicker (i think hair will be nice for 4-6 months if you wear them daily with proper care and good conditioning)

a 10 pc set from edens_extensions (culticle stripped hair) single wefted more pieces but the wefts are not that thick for me thats easier

and now i ordered remy clip ins from wicked-wares on ebay but i didnt get them yet she can make double or single wefted sets (the seller told me that i can wear them for over a year)

Clip ins are fab !! i wear them myself as i dont have the time to get extensions put in and maintain them, also i cant be bothered with the hassle of looking after them. I sell and fit clip ins in my salon and have never had any complaints as theyre so low maintainance there great. ive always worn bohyme remi silky straight but have actually had my hair permed because i wanted a curly set. they look fab. if you cant afford the upkeep of extensions i would definately invest in some quality clip ins.

Thanks for the advice.  Here is another question.  Now, the clip in extensions are all 1 length when you order them.  Now, won't it look a little fake since the more you add in the back, the higher you clip them in and the layers show up?

hi deborah, no it doesn't work like that, because when you buy your clip ins, the hair should be in the natural state ( uneven length ) so as long as you dont trim them before you put them in they will blend in like a dream.

thats tricky to do especially if some pof the pieces are the same width and forget which ones you put where after you style them.

aimee I also ordered from jasmins hair weave 2 sets of her hair and the wefts were too thick arould the head so I had a "mushroom" head. hair never blended well either. any luck with the other suppliers?

its what they call the unfinished length when you buy a weft. It gives you about 1.5" to allow to trim it up. it has quite a feathered effect

Thank you.  I really appreciate all the help.  I am going to see about getting into my salon this week and seeing if my stylist can help me for when they first come in just so I can have a pro teach me.   Clips in are more to my budget, so I will try those

yes theyre a lil thick

edens_extensions have thinner wefts but more pieces but it works better for me cuz the its not visible on top of the head (the quality of the hair is almost the same)

wicked wares sells both you can decide a seven pc set theyre as thick as the jasmin dream weaves but i told the seller i want the set to be single wefted so the wefts are not that thick but there are more pieces (10 i think) i dont know about the quality because i didnt get the set yet but it should be culticle correct hair so its a lil more expensive but i will let you know when i get them

I wear clip in's on a daily basis and have been for years.  I buy wefts and cut them the the track size I want and sew my own clips on.  I also do this for clients as well when they opt for this method.

If you use enough hair, place it high enough on the head, and install via the backcombing method that I use and is chronicled in the archives on this board, then they look very natural and stay in very well.  People who don't have success with them aren't doing it right!  It's easy!

If you go to my website, and click on the 'about me' page, you will see my before and after pictures, and in the after I am wearing clip ins that I made from Bohyme wefts.

I wear clip ins.And I really like them.I make my own.I use handtied wefts.Machine wefts are too bulky in my opinion.Clip ins are so easy. Plus like metalgirl said if they're done right noone would ever be able to tell your wearing extensions.I wore butt length clip ins from a bob haircut. And noone had a clue.

your not kidding either.I have a two year old as well.So my relaxing days are going to be just a mere memory, lol. No, I'm just kidding.I am very fortunate to have an incredible husband who I know will help me out alot.Plus his mom loves taking our son for the night so we can go on dates.I am very lucky in life.I dont know how all those single moms do it.I have alot of respect for all the single moms and dads doing it on their own.And I have even less time than the ticker says.I have a c-sect. scheduled for the 23rd.
