Hello! I just posted this at the newbie board, but I'm not sure if I'll get a response there so I thought I would ask here.
My hair is naturally a very light brown colour but I've been dyeing it quite blonde for the last couple of years using Feria. I wanted to go about half a shade darker (still quite blonde, but just not AS blonde as I was), and thought I would go to a salon to have it done properly. Big mistake. The woman who did my hair was really mean, didn't show me any hair colour samples, and said she would give me a light caramel base. My hair is now dark red on top and brown on the bottom!!!! She gave me a shampoo bleach rinse to lighten the colour she'd done, but it's still very dark. I was upset about the whole thing and really don't want to go back to her. She was so rude (quote "Should I hold your hand? Would that make you feel better?").
Can I just buy another drug store dye, in the shade that I want (blonde), and dye overtop of this brown/red mess? I'm worried that my hair might be really orange on top because of the red colour and then maybe turn green on the bottom!
I can't afford to go to another salon so I was hoping to find a home solution, and also hoping I don't have to wait for my hair to grow out (it's a few inches down my back). Truly, I can't afford another salon experience.
Does anyone have any advice for me?

First of all, I'd call the salon and report her to the owner. The
owner won't like that she's chasing clients away with that
rudeness. Tell them how she messed it up and they may offer to
get someone else at the salon to fix it right, or at least offer your
money back. (If so, ask to schedule your fix at a time when that
same woman will not be there, there's no reason to deal with that kind
of b.s. twice). A salon has an obligation to give you what you
want. That's what you agree to pay for. If they didn't do
that, you don't have to pay.

Definitely....I think I'd have told here where to go...but then again,
it wasn't me sat in that chair. And also, knowing me, I'd have
loved the red/brown mistake :D
Don't worry about it, you wont even have to pay for the fix if you go back to the same salon (but different hairdresser obv.).

you NEED to have the salon fix this......you CANT put color on top of what you have now, cause color will not lift color.....Like the ad says, JUST DO IT!! Call the salon, speak to the owner or manager and get it fixed!!
