| I really want to go natural but i am about to head to college and am scared about those "in between" months and upkeep. Is there away that i can keep my hair looking fresh while makin that transition? right now im lookin tore up and i can t do this knappy ponytail look for to long i think it damaging my hair. I plan to get a straw set next week to avoid a perm. The up keep is my main worry with limited funds as a college student. If i can't maintain the curls is a straight style possible without a perm? pLease someone Help Me!!! |

Yes a straight style is definitely possible. A good flat iron can straighten any hair type. When I transitioned I flat ironed my new growth and gradually cut the perm off....this way it was easier to manage the two defferent textures of hair. The flat iron I use is Remington Wet 2 Straight and it's like 25 dollars (since u mentioned u had limited funds). I got mine from Wal-Mart and it works real well. You may want to search on Folica.com, they have a lot of flat irons you can research but some are pricey. I'm thinking of getting one from there when I get some extra cash. ------------- |

you would have to read the box...it will tell you if it is ceramic. Be careful though, not all ceramic irons are created equal. Some are only ceramic coated/plated... and this coating wears off with some use. Make sure the iron has full ceramic plates. These will cost you a bit more, usually at least $50-60 . . .but are definitely worth it. -------------

Your welcome. I'm pretty sure the Remington is cereamic plated and not solid ceramic (which like sistaslick said, the ceramic is better). When I get some extra cash and do some research I'm gonna get a pure ceramic flat iron but for right now the Remington is what I will use. It's gonna be hard for me to pay over 80 dollars for a flat iron but I know it'll be worth it. I'm cheap ------------- |
