Should you wash your hair before a haircut. Or cut it with the grease

No. NEVER get your haircut with grease or pomade in it. It makes it harder to cut through and is just messy. I know this because my mom used to put grease in my head before i went to get my headcut and the barber would almost refuse to cut it. You might be able to get away with leaving somethin like Carrot Cream in it because that is light unlike pomade. I would suggest you just wash it and maybe just brush and  du rag it until you get the cut. After that you can do your regular routine whatever it is.

Always wash your hair before you get a haircut, especially if your goin to a barber shop, you don't want to be in the chair and they start cutting you hair and there is flakes flying everywhere. Wash your hair and don't put any type of thick grease or pomade in your hair. A lil Carrot cream, or a lil pink oil lotion, or a lil blue magic hair grease(that's what I use) is okay in your hair so you hair isn't dry, but only very little.

once again, a lite grease like blue magic does not mess up your haircut or the clippers when getting a cut, i put i little bit of blue magic in my hair when i cut it and never had a problem. i'm talking from experience.
