Ok so I just bought some wefts online. Please tell me if this is correct. I bought silky hair, 22 inches long and the weft is 42 inches long. Thats long enough to go all the way around my hair right? That seems really long to me. Also i had an argument with my father. He thinks the wefts won't go all the way around and I think that they do go all the way around evenly. I also think they will be thick enough to look like its really my hair. Whos correct? Is it just a little bit a hair like "pinch braids" or will it go all the way around like a wig, but not ALL over my head? I paid alot for this!

Thank you!

Your going to cut up the weft and make clip in's or have it sewn on? Amount of hair depends on what you have to begin with. Measure where you want the wefts and how many, and see if your close to 42. I hope this makes sence.

h*d. First you need to determine which method of install you plan on using. For wefts you usually use a glued in, sewn in or clip in method. In that case you would attach the wefts in rows around your head. If you plan on a strand by strand or individuals method like fusion, shrinks, or microrings/extentubes, then thin strands of hair will need to be cut from the wefts and usualy pretipped to be installed in whatever strand by strand method you plan to use. For pinchbraids the hair would have to be cut from the weft and braided in

I would start with the overview thread and the extensions 101 thread and read and research the information in those threads to give you a better idea what the different methods are.

As marie said, the amount of hair depends largely on how much hair you have to start with. But generally one weft  of 22 inch hair is not enough, unless your hair is really fine and thin and the extension hair has alot of body and volume

Good luck girl...keep us posted!

if your doing a full weave, where all of your natiral hair will be braided, then no it will not be enough.

If your doing an intergration weave, where you install it in rows with your natural hair loose, you will have enough coverage if you split the weft.  for example instead of doing 3 tracks with the full weft, doing 6 tracks with a split weft will give better coverage and look more natural, however it wont be thick.  In all honesty I recommend at least 2 full wefts to install if using this method, and 3 if doing a "full" weave.

Well I have thick hair and all I want is the length, NOT volume! lol if I added any more volume to my "foofy" hair, it would be a disaster! I don't exactly mean what a "full" head is anymore. All I want to do is legthen, and i'm going to be gluing them in. I'm hoping it is enough, cause I want it for Saturday (homecoming!)

Does this help anyone to help me further?

h*d you will still need enough volume/thickness to match your natural hair, othewise your natural hair will look like a mushroom on your head!
