Hello Everyone :o)
I am getting married and NEED an eperess/medieval hairstyle sort of like from the movie Lord of the Rings (Arwen)... long, flowy, some flowers in it, maybe a fine braid crown, maybe wavy (can you tell I need ideas....)...
Can ANYBODY help? I have found some ideas, but have not nailed it yet and I`m not too creative unfortunately.
I have very long (past my waist, starting to rest on my butt) dark brown, straight, medium to fine hair. Any help would be soooooo greatly appreciated.

Hi Susie, I`d like to help you find it if I can.
Could you describe it a little more. I didn`t see the movie.
But I`m pretty good at finding stuff online.
Also if you haven`t done so you might want to ask on the Formal Hairstyles, Prom Hairstyles, and Wedding Hairstyles boards. There might be some people on those boards who could help you that might not come to the Long Hair Support board.

I can`t really describe it any better than I did.... medieval style, with a braid crown maybe, loose, with small flowers spread throughout...

Is the braid like a Ring on your head, like a wreath?

Yep Bubba,.. I`ve seen that page and it`s pretty close, it`s just missing the floers and flowiness..... But that`s pretty much all I`ve come up with myself.

Did you see the other versions of the crown braid that they have on there?

I don`t know how much looking around you did but there are a bunch of pages with variations on those crown braids. True they may not have flowers in them but flowers are an afterthought.
Another idea for you to try is to look for Wedding magazine sites. Some of them might have pictures. http://modernbride.com/ - http://modernbride.com/
http://www.weddingchannel.com - http://www.weddingchannel.com (this one is for Brides Magazine)
Also check this site out. http://www.bellaonline.com/site/hair - http://www.bellaonline.com/site/hair I don`t know if you`ll find it there but its worth a look. A nice lady named Lynne runs that site. If you can`t find it maybe you can ask her about it.

I found a couple of more pictures of crown braids at:
http://www.braidedimage.com/page6.html - http://www.braidedimage.com/page6.html
Also, a woman kept a diary of her wedding preparations and decided to wear her hair in a "braid that is like a crown on my head...it makes a circle around the top - very cool! And then a braid that comes down the back and the rest will be in big curls. She is going to make the crown braid bigger, and thicker on the wedding day so it stands out a little more... and I think I might ask her to add a few more braids down the back hanging down." Sounds similiar to what you have in mind. Her are the photos of the dry run at the salon:

The whole diary makes for interesting reading and there are lots of photos of the wedding. Might be worth a read:

Good luck and I hope you find what you are looking for. ;)
