OK....I was helping Cherry-cola on a color question and started looking through my pics. I'm trying to grow my hair out and have some long layers in the length. I've been battling my bangs issue. I've gone a little darker than in these pics (more light/med golden blonde), but I'm considering going back to the blonde in the pics with the bangs. I've ALWAYS had bangs. This is the first time in my life I've tried to grow them out. This was taken earlier this year.
This was late July. My bangs are an inch or so longer now, but I wear them the same way.
Opinions please? |

I think you look a lot nicer without bangs. Perhaps if you want to keep bangs go with side swept bangs. But hey, that's just me. ------------- Elizabeth 2b/M/ii pixie/20"/waist |

I'm not a big fan of just short stright bangs. I love your second picture but I love the look of long swept bangs, maybe covering one eye.. Very sexy and mysterious ------------- Stephanie |

Yeah, I liked it when it was shorter than my avatar and had long layers.....I had more volume since I have fine/thin hair. I think I may find a happy medium like suggested.....maybe a sweeping/slant side bang. |

I love the pic with the baseball pros It makes you look younger Don't go with short bangs you need bangs that you can wear,style and sweep if need be |

Your face can definately go without bangs. Your features are in very
nice proportion! I have a very tiny mouth so I cannot get away with the no bang look. I think it looks more glamorous and updated without the bangs.......So much more you can do with it....Sometimes bangs make us look TOO young! I think just touching the shoulder (after flipping it up just a little) would give you the most body, and keep the layers! As you know, the more "damage" you do to your hair (blond..) the thicker it will appear! ------------- Life's a Journey..............NOT a Destination! |

I'd go with either no bangs, or maybe just some long, wispy ones. The short, full ones aren't very flattering, I'm afraid. ------------- More awesome than a manatee! |

You're 38? I had no idea from your avatar! The pic with the
bangs makes you look 35 (and I wasn't sure that was you at first!) and
the pic below with no bangs makes you look 18 - congrats! I don't

No, I don't. I'm not as happy with the darker color as I thought I was going to be.  Plus, since it's color and not bleach, my hair's not as thick. I need all the help I can get in the 'thickness' department. I can't wait for another 3 1/2 weeks....I'm going back lighter!

LMAO! Gee, thanks....nice to know I still have a little 'curb appeal'. When I decide to do it, I'll be sure and post an updated pic. I'm not rushing into this one. Bad thing is that the girl that cut my hair for 5 years (haven't had it professionally cut in over a year) moved 3 hours away. Now, I have to start the search for a new hairdresser. |

This is what I ended up with for the time being. Of course, they never do EXACTLY what you ask when you get your hair cut, but I think it'll be fine once they grow out a bit. We'd been outside all day and the lighting's horrible....but you get the idea. Also, I hate it when I take pics with my chin in......this is where people say I look my age. I usually take strides to make sure that doesn't happen. I think I'm going to go a little more 'honey blonde' next.

They look nice in that picture Kelly. They seem to blend with the rest
of the hair nicely. I'm sorry they aren't quite what you wanted. But I
agree that they'll grow for you so you'll have plenty of chances to get
them the way you like them. The overall look does suit you very well. I saw a movie last night with Cate Blanchett and John Cusack. I couldn't figure out who she was until I saw the credits but you kinda remind me of how she looks in that movie. It's called Pushing Tin about air traffic controllers. It's not quite the same hairstyle but that's ok. :) -------------

Have you had any coloring done that involved mixing colors to get the one you wanted? Like mixing a blonde and a light brown to get a golden color? I'm not really experienced with coloring so I'm just guessing at that. -------------

I honestly think if you were tan in the picture with the short strait bangs, you'd look just as good with bangs as you do without. you're right, tanning has everything to do with how you look. I look horrible if I'm not tan. ------------- The bigger the hair, the closer to heaven! |

Hi Kelly, I've been a hairstylist for 15 years now and you look much prettier without bangs. Let your bangs grow out but put some long layers in them so when you put them to the side they will lay better, also you will be able to make your bangs side sweep better. Good luck with your hair.
