hi, could anyone give me some tips on hot oil treatments for hair? I've heard it's really good for it but how do you do it? Can you use ordinary sunflower oil???!!!

IMO you should apply the oil and use a cap and sit under a hood dryer or a heating cap will do. Some use sunflower, olive, jojaba, etc it just all depends on you. After maybe 20min or so however long you want it to process and then rinse some wash BUT I just rinse with a little protein conditioner. Good Luck

Personally I don't recommend combining an oil treatment with a protein conditioner because somehow, some oils react to proteins and cause crunchy/gooey/weird hair. You could still experiment though, it really depends on the oil.

As for "hot oil", anything labeled "hot oil" is usually not as beneficial as a real oil. I hear sunflower oil is fabulous.

edited to add: what I like to do for deep conditioning is apply about 1 cc (cubic centimeter) of oil to my hair, little by little, making sure it's applied evenly. Wait 2-4 hours and go through a regular hairwash routine.
