heres my routine:

day 1:  wash hair w/ t-gel (i have psoriasis)
day 2: just conditioner (garnier fructice long and strong)
day 3: shampoo with that dove cream shampoo

and i repeat...will this damage my hair or make it really dry? please help, im worried that my hair might become too dry or start to thin out...

A lot of that depends on your hair type and skin.  If you have psoriasis you may have different needs than someone who does not.  In general, the longer you can go between washes, the better it is for your hair because the natural scalp oil is good for it - but then you don't want to go longer than you should.  If it looks greasy, flakes, or you get acne on your scalp, then you would need to wash more frequently. If you have to wash everyday, one thing many people do is dilute their shampoo in a small bottle down to 50/50 or even as much as 75% with water.  Usually shampoo is so concentrated that it still suds and cleans well without overdrying the scalp like concentrated shampoo does.

Susan is right on the money. You can also try just rinsing the sweat out of your hair with just water and then conditioning it. Or you can go with an all natural shampoo without harsh chemicals or sulfactants. Try Lamasbeauty.com. Their shampoos are natural and very gentle. They make a chinese herb shampoo which is wonderfull. It stop my hair from falling out, after my nightmare with thermal reconditioning. And it took care of the dry itchy scalp that the treatment left me with. It is really refreshing. Check it out. If you buy the combos you save alot of money.

I shampoo and condition my hair everyday and my hair is pretty healthy. My hair can also get very greasy if I don't wash it eveyday so...

Mine too, but I'm 15 so it is probably just my body producing a large
amount of oil. I come from a family history of oily hair and skin, but I
have read that it will pay off later in life with fewer wrinkles and fuller
hair. So, some days I will try to go a day without washing my hair (about
once a week on average) but by the second day I am in desperate need of
one.

I'm also a little worried, because I color my hair regularly - about every
six weeks - so it could be making it break or fall out. However, right now
my roots are about 1/2 inch long (it's been a month) and it still comes
out a lot at the roots. That doesn't make much since, because if my roots
are virgin, shouldn't my hair fall out less once my roots start to grow back
after coloring?

It's ok to shampoo daily as long as you condition daily too and the diluting shampoo with water is a good idea as well.

I work out everyday.  Intensively since I am still trying to shed some of this post baby fat   And I shower right after, and get my hair wet, but I only shampoo every second day.  I find every day to be too drying on my scalp and my hair.  Perhaps, ask a dermatologist that understands your skin condtion?

Your routine sounds right on!  You are using T-Gel for your psoriasis, but not every day.  Then you alternate days with a gentle cleansing shampoo and conditioning.  Keep up that routine.  One thing you could add, is that the days of using T-Gel, you could still condition your hair afterwards, if you are worried about dry hair.

Shampooing hair everyday is not bad for your hair, if you have an oily scalp.  It is only bad if you have dry hair.  If that's the case, you could wet your hair and only condition.

Do you find that the T-Gel is working well for you?  I'm just curious.

It all depends on your hair goals really. The system you have now is great for a style that you are maintaning....meaning that if you go for regular cuts every 6 to 8 weeks, this will work fine.

But if you have long hair... more than 12" of hair length anywhere on you head, this hair is 2 years plus old and needs to be treated kindly.

This is what I do and my hair is strong enough to hold me if I was hanging by it.

I work out 6, sometimes all 7 days of the week and only wash my hair with shampoo 2x a week. I use a shampoo that has no sls in it. I rinse my hair every other day with a conditioner and cover it with a plastic on the off days during the shower. I let it air dry on the off days, smooth with a silicone and put it up that day.

So, you see, it really depends. My friend has short, fine hair and has to wash and blow dry it every day or it hangs limp.  She is also cutting a lot off everytime she goes in, so my routine would not work for her.
