Hi there...
I found this place after doing a Google search for nonsurgical thinning hair help, and read the interview with Barbara. I was quite surprised she so heartily recommended extensions for thinner hair (I say thinner, not thinning because although in bright light my scalp is visible, hair is not falling out.) Probably as I age, it will thin more, but it's not rapid at this point. BUT I am self-conscious. When I e-mailed Barbara, my mails bounced. Is she a real person there? Is she trying to sell the products or does she really have a method that works with thinning hair? (i.e. not a huge bulk of hair on top to cover extensions at the crown or top of head) I'm wondering if the methods have gotten better and the bonds are different now.
I would LOVE any help or advice any of you ladies have to share with me. Below is the e-mail I tried to send but to no avail! Thanks so much!
Hi Barbara--
I read the interview you did online after searching for solutions for my thin hair, and it intrigued me enough to ask a few questions that I hope you have time to answer. I've always had thin hair. It's not balding, but for the past ten years (I'm 45), my scalp more visible than I'd like, especially in bright sunlight. With my profession I am in the public eye often, and am VERY self-conscious about it. I have above-shoulder length wavy hair that looks thicker than it is, but it's the thinning on top that bothers me. Day to day, I hardly lose any hairs, so it's stable where it's at. Years ago (6?) I had extensions for a year or so, but was told it could be used just for length because the little plastic thingies that are heated to attach the hair to your hair can be too easily seen where hair is thin. I think they were black or clear and about a quarter inch in length. So I had the thickness and length, but not on top where I most wanted it. So eventually, I stopped doing it. Now I read that you are recommending extensions for thinning hair? Is there a new technique that makes this a viable option for thinning hair? I can travel anywhere, anytime, but really would like to get some info from you first--how you are doing this to make it workable for thinning hair, alopecia, etc.
Thank you!
