Help! I'm asian, and naturally have black hair. 6 months ago I got my hair professionally highlighted. a month later, I decided I wanted black hair again. 4 months later I wanted blonde hair because I saw a picture of an asian girl one of my friends is friends with and it was beautiful on her. Well, being STUPID, I decided to bleach my hair myself to save money and then go in and have my stylist tone it and add some low lights. I even went in for a consultaion to make sure that this would be okay. She warned me not to leave the bleach on too long. So when I did it, I only left it on for 30 min. But, the strands of hair that had been highlighted before turned white, and the other strands that hadn't been highlighted turned orange. So, I thought if I bleached it again, the orange would go away. NOPE! Now my hair feels like thin rubber bands and is breaking off all over! Not to mention my scalp is really irritated from the bleach even though I didn't rub it into my scalp. I really don't want to have to chop my hair off into a boys haircut style. I wouldn't mind a short bob . . . but I think I might have to cut it shorter since its breaking off 1inch from my scalp. I'm so embrassed to go into any salon, even a supercuts or something like that! Does anyone have any suggestions? Anything at this point with be a big help! Thanks!

You have seriously damaged your hair with the bleaching. Those cuticles are blown open and your hair is dry and you have breakage occurring. This is very bad.....unfortunately you can't repair damaged hair....You can only make it more manageable by DEEP CONDITIONING the hair daily for 2 weeks then every other day for 2 more weeks. After that time see how your hair condition is. I would also recommend some MAGIC BULLET by L'ANZA to spray into the hair when it's wet before blow drying your hair. It will help to repair the cuticle layer of the hair and it can restore some of the damage. Its about $15 for a 4.2oz spray bottle....use it daily.

Dont do any chemical processes on your hair.....color, perm or anything for a long time you will only cause more problems. When the damaged hair grows out to a length you can live with....cut it off.

Deep Conditioning your hair is going to hafta be a daily or every other day routine of your daily hair care to help cope with the overprocessed hair.

G'luck

L'Anza Magic Bullet is fantastic....so is the L'Anza Healing trauma treatment 'leave in' cream.  It made a huge difference to my over processed hair in just one application.
