Hey ladies Ive gone so long without a relaxer and my hair is so thick im almost ashamed to go back to my hairdresser..I was wondering if its possible for me to use a hot comb on the new growth and do you think it will have similar results to a relaxer?

I can tell you from my experience. I'm not sure how thick your hair is, I tried it once and my hair reverted back in a couple hours. It doesn't hold as well and you have to be careful not to touch the relaxed parts of your hair.

I was embarrassed to when I went into the salon this week, but I had it done and I feel better about it. It may not be as bad as you think if you are just worried about being embarrassed.

please do not use a hot comb with your relax hair. it will cause the hair to break off and as honeydoo mention it revert rather quicky. Try using a flat iorn with heat protection with a good moisturizer if you wish for your hair to have the straight look without the relaxer.

yea b/c I knew better than to use a hot comb and I did anyways on all my hair and I burnt a piece of hair in the front but luckily I didn't suffer any damage to the rest.
