hey gina -

i think hoodia is what's in trimspa. as embarrasing as it is to say i tried something endorsed by anna nicole i did think that something in the trimspa suppressed my appetite. maybe psychosomatic, but i did feel fuller.

I have heard it works from people who've used it.I have used trimspa and I dont think it was the pills that made me lose weight, but the fact that i only drank water and counted calories. But I am curious about the hoodia myself.

Umm....I think it's more to supress hunger pains from malnutrtion. Doubt they're worried about not having ripped abs and what not.

I bought some Hoodia off ebay not too long ago after watching a 20/20 special on it but the only thing I lost was my money...LOL

To my understanding Hoodia does work to suppress hunger but it has to be the right kind and my reasearch said you can really on find the "right kind" of hoodia in Africa in it's raw form..by the time it reaches us it's been processed and all kinds of stuff.

But try it and let us know how it works....

look up CLA and HTP, those are supposed to help also with weight loss.

Hoodia is used by indigenous hunters to stave off hunger pains on long hunting expeditions. It absolutely does work - controlled trials on mice caused to the mice to basically stop eating. It's not a central nervous stimulant, but works in some novel fashion which is still being studied. Pfizer had bought the rights to develop and market the drug in North America, but that was several years ago and still nothing. I think they abandoned the project. At any rate, it comes from a cactus that takes many years to reach maturity and takes a special license to export legally. Independent studies by a British consumer group of various hoodia containing diet pills on the market failed to find a single on containing any actual hoodia, if I remember correctly.

I've looked into it, can you tell?  Heard about it a couple of years ago. It's a far shot, but if you care enough you may want to investigate hoodia products from Germany, if there are any. I think they regulate their supplement industry much more closely than most nations. I gave up, lol.

I tried Hoodia in Trim spa and just plain hoddia. Now I take Diettek (sp?) sold at GNC. I love it. So far, I am in a size 6. I used to wear a 10. Hoodia helps give me willpower. Find the formula that works for you and enjoy.

i take CLA( conjugated linolaic acid)(sp?)-which is only safflower oil caps...it is supposed to help with stored fat, and burn it..there are NO other things in CLA..and to have it work well studies have been on people that took between 3,500-4,000(whatever the measurement is)  most caps are in 700-800 or 1,000 size..so you take 3 or 4 and it is not harmful since it is only safflower oil..at least it is the only thing I have found that has not got all that other stuff in it...

added: with that hoodia stuff, if you take it and never eat due to feeling full..that is NOT a healthy way to loose weight..when you finally do eat your body is so starved of nutrition and calories(good and bad) that is stores up everything you finally do consume..Starvation is not good.  be careful with that..

I forgot to mention I take CLA too. Believe me Hoodia in the form I take is not strong enough to make me starve. It just keeps me out of Mcdonalds. Keeps me from wanting a snack and just overall gives me the will power to stick to a healthy diet. I look firm but small. I am happy with my weight loss. I want everyone here to be happy with their bodies too.

OK have to admit I bought that book Natural cures they don't want you to know about. Very interesting stuff about the government and pharmaceutical companies wanting to take over the herbs and things of that sort because they can make a profit if it's considered a drug. They talk about it already happening in Germany. Weather you believe it all or not it's a good read. Made me give up my diet coke and sugar free gum. Started to shop for organic when I can too.

Very interesting stuff about the government and pharmaceutical companies wanting to take over the herbs and things of that sort because they can make a profit if it's not considered a patentable drug. They talk about it already happening in Germany. Weather you believe it all or not it's a good read. Made me give up my diet coke and sugar free gum. Started to shop for organic when I can too.
