I made another realization today ,,, this time about
the state of my ends!!l it was approx 16 mths ago
that i stopped going to my overprocessing,
overlapping, abusing , lol Dominican hairdresser
and that was also when i began doing my own
much gentler,, just for me at home perms and im
just about positive i dont overlap ,,becuz i do it pretty
rarely now,, anyway since hair grows approx 6
inches a year and i've trimmed maybe i-2 inches off
my ends since,,,, that overlapped ,, overprocessed
hair is most likely making up the very last 2-3 inches
of my hair!! it all made perfect sense suddenly being
that my hair is around 12-15 inches,, that hair would
still be at the bottoms and thats why i keep finding
endless split ends and bent hairs ,, i never find a
split above the 2 inch mark,,,( years ago i lost hair
and inch from the root becuz of that hairdressser and
her overlapping ,, back when i was hair ignorant
),, anyway does this sound like it makes
sense?,, i hope it does becuz i feel less bad as i
verrrry gradually get rid of those ends,, it still breaks
my hear tho becuz im trying so hard taking the
best care i can in every other respect but i guess i
know why its still breaking now ,, WHEW sorrry i
made that sooooooo long but i just had to get it off
 my chest,,

Yes, it makes perfect sense. When you put a straightening chemical on your hair there is only a certain degree your hair can go to be straight. Therefore, adding more and more chemicals to the same location gives the hair no option but to break, cause it can't straighten anymore.

Yes, that makes sense.  Keep doing what you are doing cookie, because it sounds like you are taking great care of your hair.  As soon as you get those overprocessed ends off it will probably be so much better.  Do you ever do protein treatments for breakage?  I hear aphogee stops breakage almost completely.

i dont use aphogee,, im afraid im just to timid
becuz i have read too many times on boards that ppl
have breakage after from not conditioning enough
and if i happen to skip deep con one week i dont
wanna lose all my hair ,, i think using aphogee takes
dedication lol anyway i do use the apoghee 2 minute
con and also atone reconstructor and they seem to
work well,, i swear whenever i see that aphogee
treatment im so tempted but my hair is not noticeably
breaking its just when i search neurotically lol thru
my ends i find the splits which i've since stopped
 seeing since the safflower oil!!

Hi yes it does make sense, what I would recomend doing is a protein treatment that is the only that that is going to stop the spilt ends and breakage without having to cut the ends. Moisturizing is a good but won't seal spilt ends. I haven't used Aphogee before but I used Bumble and Bumbles Deeep and its a really good protein mask it stopped my breakage without leaving my hair feeling hard. Good luck!

I can understand that.  The one I have is the aphogee 2 minute.  I have yet to try it.  I'm scared of that one that gets hard!  I don't think I'll ever  have the nerve to try that one.  I'm afraid it will get so hard that my hair will snap off .
