I have very fine thin hair and have tried a few different extensions methods (micro links, shrinkies, tracks, dome etc) and none of them can be hidden by my thin hair

I have just glued some hair directly in using the invisible method and now i will see how long it lasts (just put in 4 test strands) 

cosmetically speaking its far less detectable than any other method

has anyone usedthis method for extensions? if so can you please share your experiences with it?

I've used the Liquid Gold and while I really liked the overall results on DAY 1 & 2, it later became flaky and white and it looked like crust.  Maybe they've re-formulated it by now.    It also was very messy, and I hated using it.

Did you buy the bond sealer?

I use LG alot actually. Ive never had much success with the invisible method. Seems they dont stay in very long and start looking pretty yucky! Its not a very pretty bond really!

I use the 'sandwich' method of track bonding, and they really are quite undetectable. The most undetectable way of installing in my hair which is very fine.

On my blonde hair the glue never shows up, but on my med/light brown roots it does tend to get a little off color after a few weeks. But not obviously or noticeably white or off colored. But I could see how, on dark hair the LG might appear whitish looking. And yes...LG is messy, but right now its the best option out there for a bonding glue in my opinion. And some of the girls have been using a syringe to apply the LG which might be a big help dealing with the messiness of LG

Sherrie, do you use the bond sealer that they sell with it?  I never figured it out.  How do you remove the liquid glue with the "sandwich method"?

hi PJ - sherrie is definitely LG queen but i can tell you i tried the bond sealer when i sandwiched in a few rows last month....from their directions they recommend that you glue the wefts and afterward rub a line of the sealer over the glue line to seal out moisture/oil...

i will say i have an oily scalp myself and subjectively felt like those rows were really secure! grew out with my roots and didn't loosen. for me in removing those rows i just took a ton of the LJ remover and soaked the weft on top and bottom...let it sit on there for a good half hour....worked in the remover with my fingers in any spots that were still stuck...then hopped in the shower to shampoo and the wefts flopped right off. there was still that horrid greasy/goopy residue with little chunks of white sticky glue...so i just repeated the remover letting it sit, and after another half hour shampooed and combed out any left residue/glue.

I just got done removing LG bonded wefts and let me tell you, pure acetone......lickity split!!! Yeah baby!!!

I also used a syringe to apply new wefts and that is the WAY TO GO!!!  But make sure that you are willing to throw away the syringe after you are done, because the LG just messes it up!!

I know alot of people dont like to use actone, sometimes I do sometimes I dont. But the acetone is the quickest way to remove. Amms orange oil also does a really good job removing the LG bonds. The LG remover is my least favorite of the 3 options!

I like the ChrissyV and used it for along time. And I could see how the dark glue would be less detectable for dark hair. My experience with the lighter colors of glue were that I couldnt always get a good match and it was more obvious and visible (sort of just the opposite effect)

Greetings Everyone! Im not new to the board, but I am a new poster.

My sister and I both have dark hair and have used the lg bond, both with the on track method and the off track method. The off track method looks great provided that you dont put alot of glue on the hair. My only complaint is that the hair starts to shed within two weeks using the off track method.  Has anyone tried using the fusion glue..ie. the dark monkey sticks to do an off the track method as opposed to an individual strand fusion?

The fusion glue wouldnt work to do off track bonding. With fusion glue in order to get a good bond it is intended to be rolled to form a tight cylinder (rounded) bond. Otherwise it will shed like a mofo...and all the hair will fall out!

Ive used the off the weft invisible bonding with liquid gold.  It gets all flaky and gummy/rubbery after you wash it.  It only looks good for the first few days.

Due to the fact that Liquid Gold dries clear and will bond when dry on both the added hair and the natural hair, you
can provide the following services.
Most hair for weaving is two smaller separate tracks sewed together. Using a razor blade or shears, split the wefts
apart. (This will compare to the patrons own thinning hair). Apply the bond to the hair just BELOW the weft, as close
to the weft as possible (not on the weft) on BOTH SIDES of the wefted hair, then to the parted natural hair close to the
scalp (not on the scalp). Lay weft on parted scalp so that the bonded area below weft will be where bond is on natural
hair. Press on with the back of a styling comb, then seal lightly with a warm curling iron. Cut away weft with shears.
The parting will make a perfect channel to cut away the weft without cutting the natural hair. If done correctly, the
added hair should look and feel as though it is growing from the scalp. Always apply the bond with thin even strokes.
If you apply the bond to heavily, it will show through and not look natural. Applying the bond to heavily will not make it
bond any stronger or longer.

my last couple of installs Ive learned that this is true...Ive used LESS LG than usual. I still put a thick line along the track but no longer put the glue on the root area of my hair too...(when doing the sandwich method) and I still get just as strong and as long lasting bond. Then when I put the glue on top of the bonded track to do the sandwiching I use VERY little LG and it makes it very undetectable... and I dont get alot of flaky or off color glue showing through

Thanks for the info Sherrie!  It sounds like it would be scratchy on the roots. 

I have very dark hair too and do find the LG a bit white and flaky looking, especially on the sandwich part, but my hair is quite thick naturally so you can't see it (and I went pretty high with the wefts!)  I was seriously worried I hadn't used enough glue though, as I only used 1 small bottle of LG for the whole thing, and thats including sandwiching!  But it seems to be holding up well after 2 weeks so fingers crossed.  Maybe I used less becuase I used a syringe?  I can't even imagine how you could use that stuff with the brush, I found it hellish to control even with a syringe!

yeah...Chrissyv. is EXPENSIVE but it is worth the money. It is in my opinion nearly as strong as LG. I usually always got average 6/7 weeks wear out of CV. I had one lady that keep them in for 12 weeks (not a good thing to do)

The thing that I really like better about ChrissyV. Is that the removal is a breeze. The glue dissolves instantly with the remover (which is acetone based) And its not as messy to use as LG.

I personally think that LG is just slightly stronger holding....but not much of a difference.
